Awake to the sound of waves crashing, fresh brewed coffee in hand, you greet the morning from your private deck overlooking the ocean. You might choose a short walk to the beach or hike nearby Fern Canyon. Sunsets and wine go well at Blanchard House.
We also offer a discount for 3 or 4 night reservations. Discount is automatically shown in the room rate when you select more than 2 nights. (Holidays are not discounted).

The space
Greet the morning with a view of the Pacific Ocean while you sip coffee and relax on your spacious private deck. Blanchard House overlooks Van Damme beach and the adjoining state park. You'll watch pelicans and sea gulls glide effortlessly as you listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean. Your accommodation includes a full bath, tub and separate shower, a king size bed and flat screen television with DVD player. You can stay connected to the world (should you wish) via wireless internet.

The Blanchard House has been catering to guests for the past 25 years.

Other amenities include in-room freshly ground coffee, tea, a mini refrigerator and microwave. You have a private entrance and parking.

Access to the property is gated for added security.
There are restaurants less than 5 minutes away.
You can walk to the beach or along the coastal headlands without ever getting in your car.

The historic Mendocino Village is two miles away, where you can stroll among the shops, art galleries, eateries or pay a visit to the historic Kelley House Museum. Although the architecture is of a time past, you can find a latte and good food at many locations.

Other local activities and attractions include the Mendocino Art Center, Living Light Culinary School and the Botanical Gardens. Kayaking on the ocean or local rivers, hiking or beach combing, all located nearby.

Depending on the time of your visit you can enjoy the Mendocino Music Festival, the Mendocino Film Festival, the Coast Writers Conference, TedX, the Mushroom & Fungi Festival, the Whale Festival or the Wine & Crab Festival.

In Fort Bragg, you'll find the North Coast Brewery, Glass Beach, the Skunk Train, art galleries and more shops.

You can visit wineries in Anderson valley, or drive north up the coast to Pacific Star Winery with it's spectacular ocean location.

Of course, you might choose to just kick back, read, enjoy a glass of wine and take in the relaxing atmosphere of the Blanchard House.

There is an 11% Mendocino County Bed Tax which is NOT included in the daily rate. (1-2 persons)

Your host can assist you with your plans during your stay, you need only ask in advance.

Guest access
Access your room via a private stairway and deck.
Blanchard House does not provide any cooking facilities other than microwave and mini-refrigerator.
Property is gated and you will be provided with an access code upon confirming your reservation.
You can walk to the beach and headlands from the Blanchard House without need of your car.

During your stay
We greet our guests upon arrival, provide information (similar to our Guest Book info located in the Guest room).
We enjoy learning about our guests and sharing our experiences as to hosting, ho bias and travel.
Guests can choose to interact or not. Just enjoy the accommodations and the Mendocino coastal area.

Other things to note
Access to the Blanchard House Guest Room is via an exterior stairway.
A mini-refrigerator and microwave are provided for guest usage.
Limited cell service in some coastal areas.
Holiday weekends require a minimum three (3) night booking.
