Comfortable (large) 1 bedroom apartment in Mar Vista pocket of West LA (near Venice). Original kitchen & bathroom colored tile from 1950s. Location is central to all you'd want to experience in west LA and beyond... full of all amenities you need.
Living room has been updated since this photo was taken 3 years ago. You'll now find a Samsung TV, AppleTV, PS4, and new artwork
This is a charming 1950's style 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment in Mar Vista, which is located between Venice Beach and Culver City on the west side of Los Angeles.
Staying in Mar Visa allows your easy access to many parts of LA. Venice is just a few miles West, the newly constructed Metro Expo light rail is just a few miles east in Culver City (which offers free parking and takes you directly to the heart of Downtown LA).
Plenty of bars, restaurants and amenities are located in either walking distance or a short drive (or Uber) away. I really enjoy living here and find it easier than being locked into other areas like Venice or Santa Monica.
I started hosting in 2012 and you can expect top-notch service with a clear/easy check-in and check-out process.
*** This is a NON-SMOKING rental. Thank you.
Please send me a message with any questions!
You'll have access to everything in the apartment, with a few small exceptions like my personal surfboards/bicycles.
Interaction with Guests
I typically do not meet guests face-to-face. I make it very simple/painless to find the key which allows you full access. I'm available 24/7 via phone or email in case of questions or emergency.
Mar Vista is an absolute gem on the westside.
Sunday mornings: The Mar Vista Farmers Market is the gem of the neighborhood. You'll find food vendors, the freshest fruits and veggies, and every once in awhile - live music. Definitely do not miss this...
VERY close to LAX (15-20 minutes without traffic, 25 minutes with traffic). I encourage you to ask your Taxi/Uber driver to avoid the 405 freeway and simply take Sepulveda all the way up to Mar Vista. Much faster.
METRO and Big Blue Bus stops within walking distance nearby.
Uber can take you virtually anywhere on the west side of LA for approx. $10.
No annoying parking restrictions on my main street (minus street sweeping) which is a major benefit.
I simply ask that you treat my apartment like you would your own living space.
No pets allowed.
Please respect neighbors by keeping noise levels to a minimum, just use common sense.
We had a great stay at Mark's place. Place was nicely located, fairly close to Venice beach. Process to pick up keys and checked out was really smooth. Highly recommend if you plan a beach trip in LA.
The house was very clean, spacious and tidy as promised. Mark left us a short note and a detailed digital document for things to see around which helped us to taste very delicious food and stuff during our stay. He was also very helpful and easy to reach when needed. Thanks again !
Mark was an excellent host. He was an excellent communicator from the very beginning and his apartment was exactly as pictured. Also, his recommendations in his Guidebook were a huge help in getting around and visiting the hot spots of LA. I'd recommend Mark and his place to my friends and family.
Mark was an exceptional host. He was very thorough, attentive, and accommodating. He provided excellent information and his house was perfect for my stay. I know where I'll be staying next time I visit LA.
Our stay at Mark's apartment was excellent!
Very spacious and clean. He provided us with everything we needed. The location was very good as well, close to Venice and Santa Monica.
Highly recommend it!
Had a great stay at Mark's - he's a super attentive host, the apartment was clean, spacious (enough to work out at home!), kitchen well-stocked with larder staples (cooking oils & spices) and he left a great little guide to the best spots in the neighbourhood. Thanks again!
