HEART OF SAN JOSE CITY - BUT QUIET
This is literally in the very center of San Jose, walk no more than 8 blocks to best museums, galleries, nightlife and groceries. You will NOT hear the usual neighbors, cars or construction noises of an urban area. You will hear students and yoga classes at a reasonable level - never before 8 a.m or after 10p.
$12 overnight parking is available in a guarded lot, daytime street parking available.
This is a 25 - 45 minute drive to airport depending on traffic, buses within 10 blocks also run nearby to airport and many locations in Costa Rica.
I have a tour business and can have our driver pick you up or take you to the airport for $30. This is $5 less than the regular rate.
I operate a city walking tour business so this is definitely the best place to stay to get great activity referrals. If you are interested in a city tour visit - toursanjosecostarica to see options and book in advance.

Easy location to get to from San Jose airport. Stacey's directions were easy to follow. The accommodation is rustic but incredibly clean. The bed is very comfortable and the use of the kitchen is nice, though we ate at Come Verde up the street and they were lovely and welcoming and allowed us to practice our Spanish without judgement. Street and studio noise are a factor here in the evening till about midnight, so if you're looking for silence, you may want to find another accommodation. It did not bother us at all and we slept through it. Stacey seems like a very busy lady but was very prompt and helpful with her email/text responses.
The instructions to enter the building were very clear, and the room was actually pretty big.
This is clearly an old building, but everything was clean. Stacey arrived later than us and made sure we had everything we need.
We arrived late and left early, so we did not get the chance to participate to a yoga class.
I recommend this place!
Stacey went out of her way to pick me up at the airport when I arrived; certainly not required, but much appreciated. She's doing a whole lot with limited time/resources and I'm quite impressed by what she's put together. The space is comfortable, and even though the 100+ year old building has some problems, Stacey is making the most of it. I recommend the location if you enjoy randomness in the form of lots of people coming and going, plus the occasional surprise with the utilities! Remember - you're staying in paradise. Super fun times.
My friends and I stayed at Stacey's only one night before leaving Costa Rica. I loved the neighborhood! It was close to everything we wanted to check out with the short amount of time we had. The place itself was cosy, but primarily a yoga studio! I liked the ambiance it gave. Stacey answered quickly through airbnb whenever I had questions. It's a great place for a short stay!
The location was great - a very walkable and safe neighborhood I was traveling solo and never felt uncomfortable walking by myself. The room itself was fine, everything I needed. The bathroom could've used a good cleaning though. It's also very shared. I found out once I was there that in addition to the normal yoga classes, there was also yoga teacher training going on all day. So the bathroom was pretty heavily shared. the bathroom has two doors - once to the airbnb room and the other to the rest of the building. The yoga students kept leaving the door to my room locked, which was a little inconvenient especially when you're all ready to hop in the shower.

About the Host, Stacey
Expat yoguini living in Costa Rica. - I am a San Jose fanatic. It's a great small-town kind of city with museums, parks, restaurants and friends waiting at the doorstep.
I love to eat, practice yoga, go to local concerts, garden, hike and explore!
After being here for 6 years I could never live without Salsa Lizano, Gallo Pinto, walkable streets, my street pets or all of my fabulous Costa Rican friends!
If this room is booked, please write me to see if second room at same space is available.
