HEART OF SAN JOSE CITY - BUT QUIET
This is literally in the very center of San Jose, walk no more than 8 blocks to best museums, galleries, nightlife and groceries.
$12 overnight parking is available in a guarded lot, daytime street parking available.
This is a 25 - 45 minute drive to airport depending on traffic, buses also run nearby to airport and many locations in Costa Rica.
I have a tour business and can have our driver pick you up or take you to the airport for $30. This is $5 less than the regular rate.
I operate a city walking tour business so this is definitely the best place to stay to get great activity referrals. If you are interested in a city tour visit - toursanjosecostarica to see options and book in advance.

No problem for our taxi driver to find the house. The red paint and tattooed man helped. Great location. Stacey provided great information of area. With this stay, I learned that sound really carries in some of the older buildings, and that I did not like having to whisper to my husband for fear of disturbing the yoga classes.
We never met our host though we exchanged a few text messages, the listing was as described , and in general we were satisfied with the accommodation.
We had a lovely stay at Stacey's yoga studio, and though we did not meet her, she was easily reached through email. The room was breezy and comfortable, and we felt safe there for our first night passing through San Jose. It was in a walkable neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and green space, and a short walk from a busy shopping area. It is around the corner from "Hotel Rincon de San Jose" if you need a landmark when booking a shuttle, or telling the taxi driver where to drop you off. To locate the studio entrance, look for a large mural of a guy with a red background.
Stacy gave us very detailed instructions for the house, the neighborhood! Very helpful! The location is great, walking distance to cafe, supermarket and museum. I also had lovely chat with the girls in Yoga class. They also gave me suggestion on where to go, what to eat, how much I shall expect for taxi etc. It was a very fun and unique experience.
I stayed at your house on the 26th March 2015, and all I can say is that it was one of the worst places I've ever stayed in..
I was hoping, as the description said that it is a peaceful place to stay... but I had a nightmare getting there and I had to ask someone to help, so they phoned stacy to see where her place was? As it was it was only a few Minutes away, but stacy Did not say I will come and help you... so I still had to get there by myself, when I got there I was shocked by the state of the place! My room looked like something out of a some War tore country,, don't get me wrong I get rustic!! But it was not just the look of your place it was the noise, yes yoga is a bit vocal, but yours sounds like your in there having some sort of an Indian ashram dodgy orgey!! The noise was so loud that it was around 11.30 but the time I could relax and go to sleep as I could hear everyone's conversation whom were still in the kitchen... I paid £36 for this terrible experience! !!! Robbed!! I will never recommend you or this place....
Hey Janyne, really sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. If you'd like to provide any more specifics to help us improve we would love to hear them. War-torn is too vague to be constructive.
I'm also confused as we advertise there will be people on site till 9 and on that particular day classes finished at 8:30p.m. I was on site until then and sadly, missed any orgies.
There is breath work involved in yoga classes because most people forget to breath into their stomaches on a day to day basis, leaving respirations in the chest which connects to the fight or flight part of the nervous system. When you breath into the stomach you activate the parasympathetic part of the brain thus relaxing the body, using sounds helps students more naturally take a deeper inhalation or exhalation. Actually, I'm sad you weren't able to join the class so you could get in some of that personal relaxation you were looking for. Hopefully someday you'll have the chance to attend your first yoga class.
You probably heard guests from the other room in the kitchen, I'll let future guests know to be considerate of others in the evenings. Most importantly, I was on site all day so you really had every chance to communicate with me if you were unsatisfied.
I'm not really in the robbery business and would have been happy to help you find more suitable accomodations and gift a refund. Open communication is really key to great Airbnb stays. Their phone app is excellent and I can usually respond to any guest needs via the software in a matter of minutes. Maybe a tip for your next stay. -- All the best, Stacey
We (me and my best friend) stayed at Stacey's for about 2nights in total. Initially it was supposed to be 3nights. On the first night Stacey's yoga studio door did not open. And since Stacey does not live in the place it was impossible to open or contact her(no one responded the phone or it had a special ring tone). My friend arrived at 1am after 30 hours of travel and had no where to go and the taxi driver took her to a hostel near by. Stacey arrived the next day for yoga classes and my friend was let in. Stacey refunded us for the first night and since my third friend could not come on the last night. The place is really cute- great ambiance, its just important to remember that it is a yoga studio first and airbnb place 2nd. The toilet is often shared with 20+ yoga students who visit the studio. The kitchen could be cleaner. Everything else was smooth and even if we dint want it - often the tours we arranged people would find Staceys number from the internet online(thru the yoga place and call her). Additionally, we personally felt disappointed that Stacey did not apologize once for the fact that the door did not open on the first day. That even though it was a small detail left a mark on us as it was sense of basic courtesy if you are hosting someone.
Stacey made finding the place very easy. The room was exactly as described on airbnb. I would definitely try to book here if I'm ever in San Jose again.

Expat yoguini living in Costa Rica. - I am a San Jose fanatic. It's a great small-town kind of city with museums, parks, restaurants and friends waiting at the doorstep.
I love to eat, practice yoga, go to local concerts, garden, hike and explore!
After being here for 6 years I could never live without Salsa Lizano, Gallo Pinto, walkable streets, my street pets or all of my fabulous Costa Rican friends!
If this room is booked, please write me to see if second room at same space is available.
