Lovely welcome from Nicolo's mother. Great location, spacious apartment, and very clean. Would definitely recommend as it was on boat route from the main station and easy to get to. A short walk from San Marco and the Rialto bridge too.
Très bon accueil par la mère de Nicolo qui parle très bien français. Très bien placé.
Nicolo's apartment has a great location and lots of character. We enjoyed staying there and were able to walk to the major attractions that we visited. Nicolo was a good host and responded quickly to our inquiries. There were no surprises with the check in.
Great location, good for small families. Nico's mum's helper saw us in, it all worked out fine. Very clear directions to get there. The flat is in a great location, especially if you're happy to walk to the sights, or head in the other direction and explore where people live. As many reviews have said the bathroom is an experience - just go with it, where else can you wash your feet while you're on the loo! That said, with 5 of us, the configuration of the bedrooms wasn't very fair to my two kids and mother in law - the room which can sleep three is very cramped, whereas the master bedroom is vast and has a wondrously comfy bed. The fans all do a great job of helping you to keep cool, the wifi works well and the kitchen is more than adequate - an electric kettle would have been nice. But all in all it was a good deal and felt like 'coming home' away from the crowds. The green outdoor bit in the photos isn't accessible from the flat. But despite looking a bit rough when you turn into the alley it all felt quite safe and relaxed. Venice with preteens in the summer heat is not an experience i'm in a hurry to repeat though...I'd say the flat is ideal for a couple with one older child or three friends.
Spent a marvellous weekend in Venice. Lovely character property in an ideal location. Highly recommended.
We had a great experience staying at Nicolò's place.
The apartment is just like the pictures show. He had a great communication with us at all moments and gave us good recommendations for restaurants and maps. His parents were there to show us around and they were really friendly. His mom actually speaks spanish (like us), which helped a lot while showing us around.
Nicolò even allowed us to be there before the check in time to leave our luggage while the appartment was being clean from previous guests.
There is no air conditioning but they explained it's because the house is really old and it is not allowed, but there were fans all over the house and that helped a lot.
It is also very well located, just a 10 min walk from St. Mark's Square
Will really recommend the place.
