Other Things to Note
Look carefully at the services available at home: there is NO air conditioning. Facilities in the house can be seen in the section "services", so it makes no sense to book and then complain because there is no air conditioning. Thank you.
There is a supplement from 20-40 € for late arrivals after 9:00 p.m:
9-10=20€; 10-11=30€; 11-12=40€.
We had a great experience staying at Nicolò's place.
The apartment is just like the pictures show. He had a great communication with us at all moments and gave us good recommendations for restaurants and maps. His parents were there to show us around and they were really friendly. His mom actually speaks spanish (like us), which helped a lot while showing us around.
Nicolò even allowed us to be there before the check in time to leave our luggage while the appartment was being clean from previous guests.
There is no air conditioning but they explained it's because the house is really old and it is not allowed, but there were fans all over the house and that helped a lot.
It is also very well located, just a 10 min walk from St. Mark's Square
Will really recommend the place.
Nicolò's parents greeted us warmly, despite us being late. Nicolò gave incredible information in regards to parking, transportation etc.
Nicolo was a fabulous host, very helpful and it was great to meet his parents and his partner Arianna who runs her own traditional print work (email hidden)
Apartment is central, homely and a fabulous quiet retreat from the crowds.
Pre-arrival communication was great, and Nicolo's mom was immediately available to let us into the house, show us around and explain everything. Nice welcome, including great restaurant recommendation.
The place is spacious and the pictures do represent correctly, but our stay was unfortunately not as we had expected.
The beds in both the master bedroom and in the 2nd bedroom were very uncomfortable. In the master, the mattress felt as if springs were coming out all over, and in the 2nd bedroom, the mattress was so thin that even folded in half it was not thick enough to avoid feeling the slats underneath (which fell out during the night).
Water (pressure & temperature) was great - thanks to a brand new water heater installed a few days before our arrival - but the location of the shower in the bathroom was awkward and once in, the handle takes up most of the space in the shower stall, while the curtain creeps up on you ...
thank you for your review. I'm very very sorry about the beds, I had no idea they were so bad. So, after I red your review, this morning we bought brand new mattresses. I'm sorry for your bad experience, anyway I'd like to thank you for your advice -that give us the chance to improve the services.
All the best, ciao!
Nicolo's apartment was brilliant for our stay in Venice. Nicolo's mother and father showed us around and they were so friendly. There's plenty of space and it's in a great location to walk to restaurants and St. Mark's. Nicolo was great to communicate with and was very helpful before and during our stay. I'd certainly recommend staying there during a visit to Venice.
Nicolo kept up with the communication on the apartment and giving good direction to reach home. His mom greeted and made us feel very welcome in the home. Nicolo mom showed the apartment and answer all questions. Although we did not speak the same language but she was very caring and made us feel home.
Other than poor beds, hot temperature without A/C or fans, the apartment was fine.
