I'll be around the house from time to time to take care of various things and take the trash to the street. I live just 5 minutes away and can respond to calls and texts right away.
I love my neighborhood! The street is a main road through the neighborhood, but the busiest times are morning and evening work traffic, but it never gets to bad and the windows mostly face the back yard so it's pretty quiet inside. Mabel Davis park is a 10 minute walk away and features a playground, Austin's first public skatepark, a pool (open in summer only), and a .5 mile nature trail - great for your morning run. There are several local restaurants- 888, Hai Ki, Super Burrito and Vic's BarBQue are some of my favorites.
Sheila's place is in a great location. It is less than a 10 minute drive from South Congress, downtown and East 6th where there are tons of shops, restaurants, live music and more. The house was clean and simple.
Sheila was accommodating to my arrival and the extra days that I needed to add to my stay.
I did have some issues with the carbon monoxide alarm. Sheila was responsive, but it was a safety concern. I'm sure she will resolve the issue, but might be something to ask before booking.
Overall, I would recommend this location.
Shelia was a really good host, she provided all the info on a timely manner and any questions I had she responded immediately.
The location is very close to downtown, easy access and a nice neighborhood. The housing was clean and organized equipped with all the necessities and the rooms were quint. Everything met my expectations.
Great place, good cost. The wild chickens that roam around the house (yes, wild chickens) make a lot of noise and woke me up or made it hard to work some days. Sheila was very accommodating, including getting a new wireless router to make sure the internet would work acceptably. The internet is still spotty sometimes, but with the router it's mostly good enough to work from.
A W E S O M E host! Very hospitable and felt comfortable right away. Would come back again. I highly recommend Sheila!
The location was perfect for us as we were going to the Bitcoin Conference at Circuit of the Americas. The property was a little on the older side, but it was very clean and comfortable. Sheila was nice enough to stock the pantry with some breakfast foods, water and milk. We had a nice and comfortable stay. Thanks!
Sheila's home was comfortable and well-appointed. She was friendly and flexible. It was a great place to stay and I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Austin.
Sheila was very helpful and nice, she made my first month in Austin feel like a new home

Hi, I'm Sheila - I've been a long-time landlord (since 1998, actually) and I converted my duplex over to Airbnb in 2012. I've loved every minute of it! I have met some of the most interesting people - people just traveling through, people moving to Austin, people visiting as tourists, race fans, music fans, roller derby fans and players and wedding guests, you name it. I love providing visitors to Austin with a comfortable place to stay and some insider's information about traffic, getting around the city, avoiding tourist traps, and can't-miss Austin sites, sounds and eats.
I run a non-profit afterschool program for my other job. And my other other job is mom to 2 lovely children, 16 and 11 years old. Welcome to Austin!!
