This secluded eco-retreat sits cosily on the unfound-by-tourists Balila Beach between Amed and Tulamben on Bali’s north-eastern coast. Lotus room and Lily room occupy an enormous pavilion right on the edge of the bluff above the beach; its reclaimed ironwood deck is completely private, only accessed from the two rooms (with a drop-down divider blind in between). While guests can be as private and solitary as they like, they can take advantage of Balila Beach Resort’s shared facilities: a large infinity-edge pool and sun deck, Seeds restaurant (sit by yourselves or share a table and meet new people), shaded rooftop terrace, yoga shala, spa room….and direct access onto the black-sand beach.

Other things to note
Balila Beach Resort is a small family-run place, built and run with a lot of love and an obsessive focus on sound environmental practices. We aim to create a memorable experience — one that you won’t find anywhere else on the island — but please don’t expect 5-star sophistication! We support our community, employing and training staff from the surrounding villages, sourcing coconut oil and freshly harvested produce from local farmers, and buying fish directly from the fishermen as they land their catch on the beach below the resort.

Hi friends, We are a mixed family with Birgit, originally from Austria, Made her husband from Bali and Lila our beautiful daughter. At the moment we have 1 dog and 3 cats, but that can change all the time. Made is constantly improving the resort and enjoys the time with gardening, cooking and hosting his guests.
