I live here with my husband and our daughter. We have 4 other children who live away from home but who visit. We have a lovely, gentle dog and a cat. They mainly stay outside. My husband is the local GP in the village and I work part-time as a teacher in the local primary school.
The house is close to Dunnes supermarket, pharmacy and bookshop. There is a hotel across the road from the house which has a restaurant and also good bar food. There are chinese & indian takeaways within 50 meters. There are also two pubs in the village, one which serves good food.
This area is great for hiking and cycling and there are some beautiful places to visit not too far away one of them being Glendalough which is nestled in the Wicklow mountains. A monastic settlement, it has a beauty of its own with two lakes surrounded by forests and mountains.

We would prefer that the guests don't smoke indoors.
We were at Annick and Craig house. It was like a dream, they made feel us home it was like we were part of the family. The location is perfect, the house peaceful. We highly recommend this place.
I had a lovely 1 night stay with Anwick and her family. They could not have been more hospitable and helpful. My room was cozy and I was even provided with a hot water bottle as it was a chilly night! They also helped me to find a suitable place to walk the following day and printed out maps to help me. The walk was perfect so thank you for that! I would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you are looking for a home away from home.
I had a wonderful time at the Corner House in Newtownmountkennedy. It is very well connected with Dublin by bus which is very convenient if you don't drive.
My great experience over there started even before I got there with Annick giving me clear indications on how to get there. I was picked up at at the bus stop and kindly welcomed at the house by Annick and her family.
Breakfasts offered every morning was delicious and plentiful – delicious coffee! The house is big, warm and comfy and so was my room.
There is an independent entrance to the rooms area, if you are looking for some privacy and the kitchen is full equipped with all the amenities you might need for cooking your own food.
Newtownmountkennedy is quite small village, but you can find everything you might need: supermarket, bistro, pubs, shops, thakeways... I specially enjoyed some nice and fruitful working time at the Parkview Hotel which offers a nice bistro and dinner menu served by a friendly and helpful staff.
As I was there for working purposes, I couldn't enjoy as much as I'd liked the wonderful surroundings areas such as forest walks and mountains, but Annick and her family were very kind and attentive, and made my experience wonderful.
I'll be back in future.
Annick and Craig are great hosts. Craig helped me plan my hike in the local area, making it easy for me to set off on my own. The house is beautiful and so cosy, with many gorgeous thoughtful details. Both Annick and Craig made me feel very welcome in their home, feeding me tea, scones, flapjacks and home-made brown bread, alongside plenty of good conversation, while also giving me ample space for solitude. Thank you both very much!
The corner house was a wonderful place to stay. Annick and her family made us feel very comfortable. She even arranged a cot for my daughter. Her place was perfect, clean, cosy and warm. Annick made us an incredible breakfasts every morning. I would love to come back. Thank you so much!
Annick, Craig and Kiri are the perfect hosts. Their lovely home is situated in the middle of this cute little Irish town. They are extremely welcoming and the breakfast and snacks provided by Annick were wonderful. If you're looking for a place to stay near the sea, the mountains and friendly Irish folks - look no further!
