I live here with my husband and our daughter. We have 4 other children who live away from home but who visit. We have a lovely, gentle dog and a cat. They mainly stay outside. My husband is the local GP in the village and I work part-time as a teacher in the local primary school.
The house is close to Dunnes supermarket, pharmacy and bookshop. There is a hotel across the road from the house which has a restaurant and also good bar food. There are chinese & indian takeaways within 50 meters. There are also two pubs in the village, one which serves good food.
This area is great for hiking and cycling and there are some beautiful places to visit not too far away one of them being Glendalough which is nestled in the Wicklow mountains. A monastic settlement, it has a beauty of its own with two lakes surrounded by forests and mountains.
We provide private parking for guests. Newtownmountkennedy is 35k south of Dublin. Our house is in the middle of the village, 20 metres away from the bus stop. The 133 Bus Eireann takes you directly into Dublin city centre every hour. The Dublin Bus No.184 connects the village to Greystones & Bray every 30mins.
We would prefer that the guests don't smoke indoors.
Annick and her husband were most welcoming and provided us with information about local sites and eating locations. The outside entrance was helpful as well as off-street parking. Annick fixed us a wonderful breakfast before our day of sightseeing. Annick’s husband suggested we drive to Glendalough that turned out to be one of our most memorable days. Walking around the lakes and seeing old monastic constructions.
When we were leaving early to catch the ferry, Annick graciously gave us a bag of homemade scones for our early morning departure.
We had a wonderful time in Irland!! the weather could have been better but everything else was great, the house is cozy and lovley, Annick and her family are very nice and friendly people, she makes very good homemade bread!
I had a short but very comfortable stay there. They were extremely accommodating as I was getting in late. The home is beautifully decorated and I would highly recommend a stay there.
Annick is a wonderful warm person and welcoming host. The breakfast was really great, and the room was warm and pleasant. Our dog Jon Jon had a good time interacting with her dog, and we had a relaxing time. Throughout the day Annick and her husband provided tips and also had a nice conversation about general life in Ireland, which really why we love Airbnb.
everything was as I thought to myself , the breakfast and homemade scones and bread by Anick were delicious ! :) I could use a second room for to practise yoga and violin . that was great !
I regret booking only a single night at Annick corner house.
Must say it was out first AirBnB experience, and it was more then I expected. Warm people which gave us a real home feeling from the first minute, we heard about Ireland history and the Wicklow heritage, we got very helpful trip advise along with a variety of maps and touristic literature. I loved siting down for breakfast with all their family and eating what they ate. For me, getting so intimate with the local hosts is the ultimate way to really taste Ireland in a short visit.
We enjoyed our short stay at the nice Corner House. The whole family was very friendly and helpful. Everything was as described, very clean and comfortable. Thanks a lot!
