This two-level lodge is equipped with a hot tub, wrap-around deck, home theater, and music room. You have full use of the lodge, WiFi, and the 6-acre property, with places to hike just outside.

The space
Hummingbird Hill Resort Lodge is a spacious peaceful place to relax and unwind in nature's sanctuary.

Note: For guest safety, we are taking additional precautions in the time of COVID-19, by adding vacant days between guests, and have added extra sanitation procedures that follow AirBnB guidelines.

For couples, this lodge is the perfect romantic place to share with each other within the beautiful mountain surroundings. Here, you can really get away and enjoy a special time together without the pressures of everyday life. The surroundings bring a peaceful gentle feeling.

Family groups will find the lodge's open spaces to be roomy and freeing. There are plenty of places inside and out, to talk, eat, share and hang out. The summer sun will provide the power for lighting, hot tubing, cooking, air conditioning, TV watching, hot water for showers, baths and other energy needs during your stay. With normal energy use, the lodge has a zero carbon footprint in the spring, summer, and fall. The solar panels can produce more than enough electricity for your needs while you enjoy your stay.

The full kitchen has a coffee maker, microwave, rice cooker and comes with the freezer stocked with a few items to supplement the food you bring. Some coffee and tea are supplied for you to make a pot and enjoy. All kitchen appliances were installed new in 2019 and 2020.

A variety of 28 different deck chairs are available for relaxing on the deck including fabric chairs, a rocker, and zero gravity recliners. A portable hammock is on the deck with two more hammocks between the trees, a bit below. Two propane BBQ grills are on the deck for your use. One BBQ has 5 burners and warming station and the other has 3 burners. Both grills are new in 2020.

The expansive master bedroom with a king bed has a private bath with a shower. Altogether, there is a large open living area, dining area, family room, a full kitchen, with three bedrooms and three full bathrooms on two floors.

The one full bed and bath are on a semi-private lower floor. The lower family room is suitable for younger family members or another couple who may want their own space.

The upstairs living room/ dining room area can accommodate up to 6 people with the couches, supplied memory foam portable mattresses and air beds. The downstairs can accommodate up to 8 people with two couches, a queen hide-a-bed, a full size fold down futon, queen memory foam mattress, and multiple air beds. The master bedroom has plenty of room to use one of the queen memory foam mattresses or air beds, as well. In summer, some guests like to sleep outside on the deck or hammocks.

The den/music room includes two Chromebook laptops, three Android tablets, two Windows laptops, and two iPads. WiFi is available for your own computer, phone or tablet using high-speed DSL service. There are four great local restaurants and bars within a 10-mile scenic drive. Mountain Mama's, Gold Creek Restaurant Whistlin' Jacks and The Woodshed (plans to open again soon). The staff at these restaurants are very friendly. Each business has a small grocery too, most selling beer and local wines.

There are numerous hiking trails along the Naches River and Boulder cave is about 15 miles away. Within an hour's scenic drive, there is Mount Rainier National Park, over a hundred unique wineries, Yakima Nation Legends Casino and many great shops to explore. I'm Jim Farrier and I purchased this wonderful log home as a weekend home and vacation escape. I love the mountain air with the gentle summer here and the deep fluffy snow in the winter. At the time I worked about 210 miles away in Vancouver, so I drove a lot, but I've made it here almost every weekend. Because of life and family changes, in 2012, I created Hummingbird Hill Resort as a unique rustic vacation rental to share with guests. My interests are nature, meditation, gardening, music, science, business, energy, spirituality, hiking, exploring, creative thinking, alternative health, developing peace and well-being. I believe that life is complex with unseen forces and that we are all connected with our roots into the land. I like unusual unique things that have real value even though only a few special people can see the true worth. I grew up in Tigard, Oregon and lived in Portland much of my life. I became tired of the city and I was fascinated and drawn to the Columbia Gorge and would travel and hike incessantly in the beautiful areas. I currently live in The Dalles, Oregon, and commute to the many places that I need to be, during each week. I like to use both the analytical and intuitive sides of my brain for both work and play. My education over the years has been in electronics, computers, communications, and business.I hold an MBA degree from Marylhurst University. I hold a number of certification in Project management and IT. I never stop learning and I keep pushing the envelope to understand life and each new experience. I continue to take classes and learn new things in a variety of fields including AI and marketing.
