Welcome to Albuquerque! I am a veteran AirBNB host from NYC who moved to New Mexico a couple of years ago, and we're delighted to welcome other visitors to our new adobe home in the Land of Enchantment.
Our travel-themed house is 2000 square feet total, and your stay includes full use of the kitchen, living room, family room, dining room, sunroom, and oasis of a backyard with meditation pond, lawn, firepit, and outdoor dining spaces. It's a great space to enjoy at any time of day.
Our guest bedroom comes furnished with a bed, bureau, and closet, with an adjoining open-plan library room containing a desk and a futon for those needing additional sleeping space for additional guests. (The master bedroom can also be made available for slightly more per night--just ask.)
Interaction with Guests
It's your holiday! I'm here to chat over a drink, or just simply answer questions--as you like. Before you come, feel free to call for directions or to give an ETA. (Please note that I don't text message, so it is better to call me.)
Come and stay at the edge of Albuquerque's upscale Ridgecrest neighborhood. We're also just on the eastern side of the hip district of Nob Hill, and close to the airport.
Only one mile from the coolest restaurants in town, and only ten minutes from the airport, so it couldn't be more convenient. For those without a car, my house is also an easy ten-minute walk from the "Magic Bus Stop" (that's its real name!) which takes you to UNM in only two stops.
Other Things to Note
If you are visiting Albuquerque for business or pleasure, on your way out to Santa Fe, Taos, or the other wonders of enchanting New Mexico, or just looking for an oasis on your cross-country peregrinations, you are more than welcome to stay at the Mission, your oasis in the high desert!
No smoking indoors but otherwise no special rules--we welcome all quiet and respectful guests and hope you enjoy your stay!
Luis was so welcoming! As soon as we arrived (although late) he gave us a tour of the house and made us feel so comfortable. His house is absolutely gorgeous. Besides that, when I woke up in the morning, Luis had already known we were heading to the Grand Canyon, and he was looking at routes for us to get there. Above and beyond in every way! If ever in New Mexico, his house is the place to go - a true taste of the state!
Luis was a great host! Very welcoming to my late arrival and very early departure! The house is comfortable, creative and very relaxing. It was perfect for my early flight out. If I pass through Albuquerque again, I will use this space again!
My first AirBNB stay was at Luis' house in Albuquerque. It worked out perfectly!
My flight was arriving late in the evening and Luis said ahead of time that it would be okay. He was flexible.
Luis's house was fairly near the airport. And he gave me excellent directions from the airport so I arrived easily in a new city without a hitch.
Luis welcomed me warmly and showed me the house and my room and the bathroom. And then I was off to a good night's sleep.
I had a comfortable bed in a comfortable room and the next morning I had a great shower and nice towels to get ready for the day, seeing friends in Albuquerque and then driving to Santa Fe, my ultimate destination.
Luis is a history professor and was very interesting to talk to -- I would have been happy to have had the time to hang out at his house and find out more about his interests. But sadly -- except for a tour of the garden and an up-close view of the lizard on the roof -- I had no time.
I went off to breakfast and a busy busy day.
Thank you, Luis, for your hospitality!
Luis greeted us immediately with “Welcome Home!” and we did feel right at home there. Luis is an enthusiastic host and conversationalist and very easy to get along with. His house is lovely and designed / decorated in New Mexico artsy fun style (love the giant stone lizard on the roof who wears a Santa hat every year). There was plenty of shared casual space to enjoy which included an inviting sunroom. There was convenient parking in the driveway with easy access to the house. The guest room was a little small, but had everything we needed and we felt very comfortable. The bathroom was only 2 steps away from the bedroom. The neighborhood felt safe, well kept and convenient to everywhere we needed to go. We would stay here again when the opportunity arises.
Great place. Luis was very friendly and welcoming. Made us feel right at home. He was very gracious with our infant and toddler. Sorry we had to leave so soon.
Our experience could not have been better! Luis had a lovely home and provided excellent recommendations (breakfast at Tia Betty's was amazing). We only wish we could have met him! Thanks so much!
The house was great, the room was cozy, and the bathroom had a great shower and bathtub. Luis was a great host, he even accommodated my bike and allowed me to bring it into the living room. Luis provided some great suggestions for things to see in Albuquerque and Amarillo.
