My husband and I loved Chris's little getaway. It looked just as pictured, had a comfy bed and roomy bathroom. The backyard is beautifully landscaped and I would have enjoyed spending more time relaxing in it if we weren't on a quick two-day trip. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and fun to walk around in. We had lunch at a wonderful Basque restaurant that we'd definitely go back to.
We stayed at Christine's place in San Diego which was a lovely little cottage. We absolutely loved it. All the small details made the room very cozy. The bed was super comfortable and the location was perfect to get around San Diego.
We would choose that place anytime again.
A nice cozy place centrally located. Close to Balboa park and downtown. Christine was wonderful and respected our privacy. We would not hesitate staying there again.
Chris couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating! The room is a great, private, standalone space in a walkable neighborhood. Small touches like a jug of filtered water in the fridge upon arrival really made a difference. Thanks, Chris!
Christine's place was lovely. It was totally private and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and she's got everything we need like a mini fridge, microwave, shampoo & conditioner etc. the neighborhood was very safe and everything was within 15-20mins drive away. Excellent location!
Clean and tidy accommodation. Fairly central and close to local amenities. Nice outdoor area of which we had full use of. Very safe neighborhood and free parking. Suitable for a max of 2 people. Converted garage that makes good use of limited space. However blinds offer insufficient privacy. We were provided a dish rack and associated equipment but only a small bathroom sink with insufficient space to do any dishes. Very cost effective accommodation for a short stay. Photos for this property presented a glossier appearance than what was apparent on arrival.
With all due respect, your feedback about the appearance of the room surprised me. Out of 154 reviews no one ever said my pictures presented a glossier appearance of the room. Every effort was made to portray an accurate description. I agree there is limited space to do dishes that is why I do not advertise a kitchen. I just provide plates, etc. to help guests who might want to eat in the room and stay within a budget. Although the back yard is totally secluded and the room has private blinds, I can add additional blinds in the middle windows and I will do so. Thanks for your feedback.
This was the perfect place to stay while visiting San Diego. Christine was really clear in the directions and made it very easy to find her home. The bed was comfy. The shower pressure was great. The separate unit provides privacy. It was clean and very welcoming. The location was wonderful - it's a lovely, quiet neighborhood that is within walking distance of a fun part of town with plenty of shopping and restaurants. She's also close enough to walk to Balboa Park. We'll definitely stay here again!
I am originally from the East Coast, but I have been a San Diego resident for over 30 years. I am a retired school administrator who likes to relax and enjoy the simple things in life. In my spare time, I foster dogs, travel, work in my garden, and host dinner parties. I have a loving family and good friends, including my two canine buddies, Pokey and Alan. I hope you will enjoy staying at my getaway and I look forward to meeting you.
