  • We had a lovely 4th of July weekend at Chris' casita. The location was 10 min from everything we wanted to do. We went yo Cornado island , Balboa park and Seaport village. We has our little poodle with us as he has a great time playing with Chris' dogs . We will stay there again!

  • Aunt Chris' San Diego Getaway was just what I had hoped for. She and her little dogs were lovely and the perfect balance of welcoming and completely non intrusive. I honestly pretty much had the place to myself for the weekend and loved the complete privacy. It's a beautiful room (and garden!) that felt just like home for me. It was quiet, peaceful, pretty, comfortable, and very relaxing. I also loved the neighborhood I was in and couldn't have asked for a more ideal location in regards to a quick walk to cafes, boutiques, and public transportation. My only regret was that I didn't have more time to spend enjoying this retreat!

  • This place was a cozy little spot in a nice neighborhood. It had everything we needed. It was very clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable to. I enjoyed the back yard just sitting there relaxing listening to the birds sing and enjoying her lush garden. I felt safe there with no worries. I'd rather stay at Aunt Christines place than any hotel to be honest in San Diego . We had very little contact with Christine because we were out and about in the city but she seemed like a real nice down to earth person with cool dogs. . I recommend this place .

  • Possibly the best Airbnb experience I've ever had. The place is exactly as described (and probably better with the awesome outdoor space). Christine attended to every detail, and was very responsive to anything we needed (without ever being intrusive). You have your privacy, but never need anything. Extraordinarily clean, plenty of clean towels, and an awesome space and host. The space has tons of natural light and fresh air - which I love (we had all of the windows open all week). My dog was able to hang out inside and out at his will (a benefit of both San Diego and Christine's fenced in backyard). I'm picky - and this place fit the bill perfectly (not to mention an incredible value over most other spaces)

  • Our time with Christine was AWESOME. Her cottage is just like in the photos.
It is also the perfect location if you're interested in cheking out Coronado Island (10 minutes by car)
This was our first AirBNB experience and it was far beyond all our expectations. Chris has the perfect attitude and personality for AirBnB host. We would gladly stay their again.
Wine upon arrival was incredibile! thank you Chris!

  • This is a peaceful place in a very quiet, well-located neighborhood. The courtyard is very lovely and Aunt Chris has worked diligently to sweetly decorate this little Euro-room and include every little culinary/personal care tool you might need. We rested very well here and enjoyed the fresh air of San Diego's cool nights and warm days. Thanks, Aunt Chris! We loved watching your little Shitzu (oops spelling?) trot out your back door alone and run the exact same courtyard patrol pattern we saw you trace a couple of times!

  • We had a wonderful stay with Chris, the room is perfect and she has thought of everything to make it completely private and self contained. The accommodation is in the shaded back garden and is very well equipped.
It's a great neighbourhood with lots of small quirky little shops and bars ,it's a very safe area and we had the best food at the local restaurants. It's an easy drive into downtown San Diego but we preferred the feel of the local area.
Chris was available to talk to and give advice, I would not hesitate to recommend the accommodation.

  • Aunt Chris's getaway was amazing! When we arrived, it was very easy to access the getaway and there was even a bottle of wine for us from Chris.
It is centrally located, with plenty of small shops and restaurants within walking distance. There was a very well put together guidebook for the neighborhood, which we took advantage of.
The zoo and museums were very easy to get by using public transportation. We had little contact with Aunt Chris, but that's because we kept to ourselves or we were out and about. We did get to meet her two dogs, who were very sweet.
Overall it was a great and relaxing vacation that could not have happened without staying at the Getaway.

  • It was really amazing!!! This little spot was clean and very cozy. South Park is a wonderful neighborhood with very good an individual restaurants. Chris is very welcoming and is perfectly organized. We can only recommend this place to everyone that looks for a stay in San Diego.

  • This has been the best Airbnb experience so far. I have stayed in Boise, Seattle and New Orleans and this tops them all. I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Aunt Chris' San Diego Getaway. The accommodations were spotless and the backyard is beautiful, shaded and very zen. It was unusually hot while we were there and Christine was so great about providing plenty of fans. Not to mention all the windows can open and you get a very relaxing camp-out feeling. The best part for us was her accommodating nature with our dog. The backyard is blocked off and we felt very safe leaving our dog back there. She even invited our dog inside her house to hang out with her very sweet little dogs. The neighborhood is EXTREMELY safe and really close to everything. I hope to get the chance to stay here again sometime. Thank you Christine!

I am originally from the East Coast, but I have been a San Diego resident for 30 years. I am a retired school administrator who likes to relax and enjoy the simple things in life. In my spare time, I foster dogs, travel, work in my garden, and entertain friends. I have a loving family and lots of good friends, including my two canine buddies, Pokey and Alan. I hope you will enjoy staying at my getaway and I look forward to meeting you.
