Among the architectural features in Balvanera are the neo-classical Congress building and the statue group in neighboring Plaza Congreso. The El Molino tea room is located across the street in a building that has seen several rounds of restoration since its heyday.
The café Los Angelitos in the corner of Rivadavia and Rincón was a meeting point for poets and musicians. It features a relief of angels in its façade, which is one of the landmarks of the barrio. After extensive restorations, it was reopened in 2007, with plans to offer live tango and become a tourist landmark much like the Tortoni and Ideal cafés.
I hope you like the place. Don't forget to check up the photos of the house.
See you soon.
Ignacio's place was great!! I was there for one week and he welcomed me with open arms and gave me inside tips about living in BA. The house had a great vibe with great people from all over the world. Truly recommend it!
Ignácio é uma pessoa muito especial, e que sabe o verdadeiro sentido da palavra "anfitrião". Voltaria a repetir tudo de novo, num constante Sísifo existencial.
I've been in mi casa en BA for almost 4 weeks now and for all this time Ignacio was not only a great host but a good friend as well. I was supposed to stay for 12 nights and I extended my stay twice so far, the second time with a very short notice due to an emergency situation I was in. Ignacio was very prompt in accommodating me and I am very grateful for this. The house is very beautiful, it has everything one could possibly need in a house, it is very clean and the overall atmosphere is really great. The area is quiet but safe and there very well connected to all of BA's hot spots.
For the first week of my stay here Ignacio was on vacation and his brother Nico was taking care of the house. Nico was very helpful as host and a great person to be around.
Overall, I am very happy I chose Mi Casa en BA and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to spend some great time in this beautiful city.
Hands down, "mi casa in BA" is the best place I have stayed during my 5 weeks in South America. Beyond the great location (easy walking distance to most points of interest, not touristy, full of lovely old colorful buildings), the space is beautifully decorated (I want the dinning table and chairs!), the architecture is amazing, and the atmosphere is fun/ easy going/ feels like home. From day one I instantly found myself sharing LOTS of really great food/ practicing my spanish/ and drinking great (cheap) wine with the flatmates. Ignacio is a great host-- full of advice/ tips about BA/ has created a great vibe in the lovely home. I will definitely be back to mi casa en BA someday!
I stayed in the house for about 2 months and my experience was very positive. Ignacio is a wonderful host and will help you with anything he can. He cares about the house a lot and works always to keep the house in top shape. Aside from this he is very knowledgeable about the city and has an answer to pretty much any question you can think of. Norma (the cleaning lady) is awesome and you can chat with her to practice your spanish!
The house is well equipped and cleaned twice a week. It is located in residential and not touristy area of the city which has all the basic amenities but gets quiet at night. Still the house’s location makes it easy to get anywhere in the city via bus or subway. The house has a friendly atmosphere and you can spend some quality time with the people in it cooking/drinking wine/partying. Most of my friends in South America are people that have lived in the house at some point during my stay, including Ignacio.
During my stay the house really felt like home- which is a great feeling to have while traveling. Definitely recommended!
It's a wonderfull small house in the non touristic neighbourhood balvanera. You can call it "mi design casa", because ignacio created a perfect interior with unique objects. In the evening the light in the shared living room gets as warm as the ambience. He really takes care of his guests, so you can easily take the flow to get connected to the people. Thank you ignacio for making this happen*
"Mi casa en BA" is a spacious and comfortable house in the neighbourhood of Balvanera that has been beautifully renovated by Ignacio and his family with great care. Ignacio was a extremely helpful host who did a great job making me feel at home. The place has an awesome kitchen and is definitely recommended for all those of you who like sharing with a bunch of interesting people.
I would have loved to extend my stay but needed to move to another neighbourhood closer to work.
