The space

Our little backyard escape is a detached apartment/room with a nice large shower and bathroom. There is a queen size bed, TV with cable, Air conditioner / heater, mini fridge & a coffee maker (along with use of a grill and patio).
The room is not huge but it is nice and cozy and has everything anyone would need for a short term stay (1 day to 1 week).
The apartment is located in a vibrant historic neighborhood
just one mile from Fort Worth museums (Modern, Amon Carter, Kimbell, Science & History) and the Will Rogers Coliseum (Rodeo). It is also close to West 7th (new restaurants, bars, shopping) and walking distance to a wine bar (Winslow's) and Gingerman (beer pub) among other things. It's about 3 miles from Downtown Fort Worth (Sundance Square, etc).
There is a two car driveway so there's a parking spot (or more if needed) right in front of the apartment.
There is a park and community center (with gym) 1/2 block away and a school with a track, basketball courts and exercise circuit 1/2 block away.
Public transportation is close, with a bus stop 2 blocks away, and we'd be happy to lend a bicycle to anyone looking to check out the area on bike.

Guest access

Feel free to lay on the hammock in the backyard, sit on the back porch, use the grill or anything else in the backyard.
If you need a garage parking spot, we can try to accommodate.

Interaction with guests

We love interacting with guests when we're around and if guests are in the mood to talk.
We respect our guests space and understand if guests prefer to just enjoy the peace and quiet.

The neighborhood

Our neighborhood is very friendly and active and when the weather is comfortable, there are lots of folks walking, exercising, playing at the park and socializing.
Most homes were built in the 1920's - 1930's and have been renovated.
We are close to shopping and restaurants, although there are only a few within short walking distance.

Getting around

There is a bus stop 2 blocks away which can quickly take you to the museums or downtown.
If you have a car, feel free to park in our driveway or on the street.
From the airport, our place is about a 45 minute drive. You can also take the TRE to downtown Fort Worth and a bus or taxi from there, but it will take a couple of hours to go this route.

House Rules

No smoking inside the room. Sorry, no pets.
Please turn off A/C when leaving the room unless it's summertime..then we understand.
You can park in the driveway in front of the room (at the back on the right side) or on the street. The driveway is a little narrow so just be careful.
Feel free to use our patio and backyard.

I cannot say enough nice things about our stay! The location was perfect---in a quiet residential area, but still very close to museums and restaurants. The room was nicely decorated and very clean, and filled with thoughtful touches, like magazines about Fort Worth and little snacks. I would definitely recommend!

My husband and I needed somewhere to stay in Fort Worth for a wedding that was downtown. The hotels down there were too expensive for an obligatory wedding so we wanted something comparable to a hotel but more private and cheaper. It was a 5 minute uber ride to get downtown. This was a perfect solution. The room and bathroom is the same size as a standard hotel room, plus you get a private backyard and parking right out front. There were even some complimentary snacks for us. The whole space was updated and clean. We received clear and concise instructions from the hosts on how to get in, and once we were in, we did not need to contact the hosts for any reason. We did not see them either, which is what I prefer when staying at an airbnb. I like the luxury of checking in and out, and coming and going, without feeling watched/supervised. We loved our little getaway space for the weekend. Would recommend it 100%!

The property is on a quiet street and all of Ft. Worth is easily accessible. It is safe to park on the street and easier than using the driveway. Storage is very limited in this property.

The room had everything I needed for a weekend stay. Loved the snacks, water bottles, and extras in the bathroom in case I forgot anything. The room is small, but has a comfortable, homey feel. Bathroom is big and beautifully done with a luxurious shower. Cute neighborhood close to everything you might want to do in Fort Worth. Best for 1 person since there isn't much room for suitcases, but will work for 2 if you don't mind being a little crowded.

Allen & Elise User ProfileAllen & Elise is a superhost.

We love being AirBnB hosts and have met so many great people during our experiences over the past few years. We have two young kids and although we're not as well traveled as we used to be, still enjoy sharing stories with fellow travelers. Having been in Fort Worth for the past 8 years, we love the area and enjoy getting out to new local restaurants and re-visiting our favorite local spots.. From West 7th to the near Southside this part of DFW has the most going for it right now.
We like spending time outside, going to museums and just hanging out with friends. If we're home, we'd love to visit with any guests and share a story or two.
