About this listing
A lovely simple single room in a clean bright friendly house. The house is a 1930s period property and would be fairly typical of the type of house that a lot of Irish people live in,. I work from home a lot so will be on hand to help you out with any questions. You will have the run of the house, and will be given a door key so you can come and go as you wish, and when you are not out exploring the city you are welcome to use the kitchen to cook in, or the sitting room to curl up by the open fire with our old dog and slightly mad cat ,and a good book, or watch some telly or avail of the WiFi .If the weather is fine you can sit out in the very private garden and even have a BBQ if you like. Located about 4 kms from the city center ,in a quiet residential area, which has late night supermarkets, a post office, a chemist and parks on the doorstep and a selection of restaurants and local pubs, about 15 minutes away . Or if you want to pop into the city, the bus stops just at the end of our little cul de sac and it will have you there in approx 25 mins .The room itself has many little extras, like a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits if you fancy a late night snack ,maps of the area so you won't get lost, practical things like, adapter plugs, an electric blanket to keep you cosy , towels, extra bedding , pillows.Breakfast is included in the price,I will provide a selection of breakfast items i.e. tea, coffee, brown bread, eggs yogurt ,honey, fruit and you are welcome to cook it at any time you want , so if you wish to have breakfast at 7am or 3pm that is just fine with me . I am happy to do either short term or long term , just let me know what suits, my house is a normal Dublin house, it is not a hotel or hostel, I let out 3 bedrooms so you will meet other travellers and it is not an en-suite situation, I try really hard to make you feel at home , and to give as much info about getting around Dublin as possible...... So we look forward to your visit..... Really you will not get better value any where else ...GREAT VALUE !!!!!!

Hostess was pleasant and very helpful. House was centrally located. Home was small but very cozy.
The host was very inviting and offered a thorough run down of the accommodations. She was also very helpful in providing all the essentials and more (I forgot my adapter and she provided one!). I felt welcome from the first minute I was in the house. A decent location for tourists (about 20 min from the city center).
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Barbara's place! She was extremely accommodating, waking up bright and early in the morning my flight arrived to get me settled in. Her pets are very welcoming as well. :-) This was an awesome experience for me overall!
My visit was as cozy and enjoyable as expected. Barbara provides a welcoming, joyful, and helpful energy. I very much enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to book again if I were in the area.
Barbara is a fantastic host and the house is in a good location, right next to the bus stop, 15-20 min from the centre of Dublin. The back garden is lovely. I really enjoyed my week in the house and would definitely love to stay again if I'm in Dublin.
Barbara's apartment was great and very homely. We enjoyed our stay there totally. I was very grateful that we were allowed to stay at her place despite the personal circumstances that she was facing. The house is very lovely and both barbara and holly were very welcoming as well. :) the kitchen is always stocked with food, spices and sauces with lots of pots and pans to cook whatever variety of food we wished to cook! Phoebe (the dog) and tuna (the cat) were both very good companions after a hard days work as well. Overall, a great airbnb that i would recommend to anyone coming to dublin!:)
I was very well in this house. Room is very clean and very pretty house. Great location (bus stop in front of the house) and Barbara is a really nice and helpful person. His daughter helped me a lot to move in Dublin by bus. Truly a wonderful stay!

About the Host, Barbara
Hi I'm Barbara, and I am a great fan of AIRBNB , I first used it myself to find accommodation in Brooklyn a while ago, and it was such a good experience I decided to become a host, and now I am a total convert. I have been letting out a room on either a long or short term basis for many years , but just love the Airbnb way of doing things. My favorite things are travel and anything art/design/craft related, My background is as a theatre designer, but these days I run a small home based business making hand made craft kits for kids,.........Planet Purple Kids.........I love meeting new people from different parts of the world, and would like you to feel at home here. ....If you are new to airbnb and maybe a bit nervous, go on try it , really it is so much better than any standard bnb or hostel
