The Space

DESCRIPTION

Self-contained open plan studio apartment on Level 1, which opens onto spacious garden. Includes bathroom, 2 burner cooking hob, microwave oven, kettle, cutlery, crockery and all the basics in the kitchen for self-catering.

1 Queen size double bed is in a separate bedroom. The 2 single beds are in a screened area, that is part of the large open plan area. The beds can be moved around in the open plan space to meet the needs of your group, for acoustic or visual privacy that best suits you.

We recently installed a second gas space heater that quickly makes the Studio snug after you come home from a long day touristing or working in the winter.

KITCHEN EQUIPMENT

There is a 2 ring electric cook top, electric frypan, rice cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator and small freezer compartment, pots, pans, wok, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, glasses, etc to make preparation of meals very easy. Some of our guests have stayed as long as 3 months and found the kitchen very satisfactory.

FOOD AND SHOPPING

Lots of interesting cafes and restaurants within 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive at Mosman and Cremorne. Many food places offer home delivery, if you want it.

Excellent choice of quality supermarkets, fresh meat and vegetables 7-8 minutes away by bus or car at Bridgepoint Spit Junction, Cremorne and Neutral Bay. And a FoodPlus store 5 minutes walk away for the basics and the morning paper, if you need it.

LOCAL AREA

Mosman is a up-market Sydney suburb, with Sydney Harbour on 3 sides. Mosman's shopping centre has a unique village feel that makes it popular for fashion and food shoppers from all over Sydney.

But there is lots of natural bush and wildlife in Mosman too - the kookaburras and lorikeets are guaranteed to give you a noisy brilliant early morning or dawn chorus in the summer time! Our location is convenient for a harbour edge walk to Manly, and visiting Sydney's famous Taronga Zoo.

Studio Yindi is a great base for seeing Sydney in detail. Owners are regular oversees travellers themselves, and we enjoy the variety, surprise and informality of AirBnB accommodation. The Studio is very suitable for children, with direct access to a lawn and garden. Balmoral Beach, which is less than 10 minutes drive away is a very safe beach for children of all ages.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Several guests are choosing Studio Yindi for longer working holiday stays in Sydney. Lots of space for working in the Studio, using the WiFi Internet connection. We can even give you access to a printer, if you need hardcopy.

The quiet setting and sunny garden is excellent for working in the Studio. Then it is easy to get into city centre, North Sydney or Chatswood by public transport for meeting clients or customers.

BOOKING INFORMATION

Studio Yindi can be booked for 2, 3 or 4 people, for a minimum of 2 nights.

Though self-contained the Studio is also part of owners' home, and is located in a quiet and peaceful suburb of Mosman. We are anxious that guests do not disturb our neighbours with excessive noise.

We expect potential guests to send us brief personal profile information with their inquiry: number of people in your group, their ages, type of work you do, where you normally live, why you are visiting Sydney, for example. No profile means we will be less inclined to offer the Studio to you.

  • It was easy to communicate with John before our stay. He was very helpful and prompt with his replies. John met us on arrival and was very pleasant. He also popped in during our stay to check that all was well. The studio was as we expected from the listing. It was comfortable, with good heating and in a peaceful location. We travelled by car, but there was a bus stop within a stone's throw of the studio with a regular service to the city. This was our first experience of airbnb accommodation and we were impressed.

  • Highly recommend! My family and I really enjoyed staying in Studio Yindi! The studio was big enough for us and just right for us! Simply it had got everything we needed, hot shower, cosy sofa, big beds, evern kitchen utilities! The owner, Mr. John Young was very helpful in every way! We would definitely stay in Stuido Yindi if we have another chance to visit Sydney!

  • We have got what we expected to get. John gave us good advices. It has good location in Sydney.

  • My husband, teenage daughter and myself had a week staying at Studio Yindi.
The Studio was spacious, clean, an outside private area to sit listening to the birds was a highlight. We found John very helpful and the communication beforehand was fantastic, lots of ideas of places to visit in Sydney etc. The price was very reasonable too. We will be back for sure and recommend this accommodation to anyone normally we would stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel but thought we would give this a go. I am glad we did as it gave me more money to spend on shopping! The kitchen was well equipped to so we had a few meals in as well.

  • Great studio in a pleasant location. Very central to the city- taxi to CBD in about 10mins. very roomy with good amenities. John was considerate, on one morning we woke to footsteps and plumbing usage above our bedroom at 6am and mentioned this & they were very quiet the next morning which was great. I think its good value for money compared to a lot of Sydney accommodation on offer.

  • We had a memorable time at John's place. We mostly used to be out, but felt completely at home at all times we were there. John and Pam are friendly and helpful, and we will consider staying again on our next visit !

  • The location is gorgeous, there's a lot of space in the living area and John is a perfect host.
It isn't great for really young kids, probably not for under 5 years. I also found it a bit too dirty, but to be fair I didn't raise this with John while there.

  • John is the perfect host. He was at home when we arrived there and he help us with all that we need to know and gave us some advices were to go or what to see that we love it.

The house is perfect and very near to the centre, you have buses and everything you can need it at any moment.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Studio Yindi - it was just right for us. We had complete privacy, but were still able to interact with Pam and John whenever we wanted to. The neighbourhood was charming - loved being woken up to the sounds of the birds, but at the same time it was peaceful and quiet. Close to public transportation routes if you are ok with hilly walks...we are. Lots of room to spread out and feel comfortable.

Internet Architect @ Yindi Systems
About
Faber est suae quisquae fortunae Host at Studio Yindi is an architect, who now manages consulting projects involving the Internet for small-medium businesses. I call myself an Internet Architect on my business card these days. Most of my current projects involve marketing using social media tools. A born and bred Sydneysider I lived in UK for 10 years till 1984. Done lots of travel in Europe, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Japan, New Zealand, USA. Studio Yindi incorporates the things I look for when selecting boutique hotels, pensions, hostels and B&Bs for myself - space, privacy, wifi Internet access, reading light at the bedside, comfortable and practical for working while "on the road", a bit unusual, a little surprise, value for money. My own preferences are for adventure and off the beaten track, rather than luxury, international 5 star. I love meeting travelers from all parts of the world, and helping them enjoy the experience of a first visit to Sydney. Lots of experience assisting overseas based friends and colleagues to see the best parts of Sydney, using public transport, and avoiding the expensive tourist services. Messing about on boats is one of my passions. I have a 7.2 m (24') yacht moored nearby on the harbour and know a lot about the nice parts of our extensive waterways, including its part in Australian history. I love sharing tips on how to see the best of the harbour, using inexpensive public ferries, plus strolls around Cremorne Point from Mosman Bay, or the 3 - 4 hour walk from the Spit to Manly, via Sydney Harbour National Park.
