The Space

Built in 1908 as a politicians mansion, then bought by a madam that converted it into a brothel, this beautiful piece of history is now an apartment building in the heart of downtown San Francisco. It is conveniently located within walking distance to EVERYTHING; BART, MUNI, Cable Cars, Union Square, China Town, Little Italy and various bars and restaurants.

Admired for being the only building in its area with a courtyard, this four story building is shaded by its four story palm tree and two plum trees that guard the entrance. All of which the room offers a great view of!

The available room (17' x 13') includes walk in closet (5' x 4') and a built in shelf/ office fixture (2' x 7'). Comes furnished with impeccably clean bed, bedding, wooden box shelf unit (shown in picture), Metal wire drawers, and sitting area. Shared bathroom with one other person, me or another Airbnb guest! Large dinning area, spacious kitchen for cooking and FREE WIFI.
Washer and dryer located in the basement of the building: $2.00 for wash and $1.50 for dry (the machines only take quarters).

I work 40+ hours a week and spend most of my free time outside of the apartment. Although, when I am home I make sure that there are plenty of clean towels and always offer to wash the sheets for guests staying longer than 5 days... If you're lucky I'll leave a mint on your pillow! ;)

Check in and check out are flexible but, Please give me an approximate check in and check out time upon requesting the room so that I may arrange for someone to let you in if I cannot myself. Also, pictures are needed for recognition, thanks! :)

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Christina was a very responsive and helpful host. She made it really easy to settle in, get around the city via public transport and was very quick to respond. The room was perfect! Great location in a trendy neighbourhood ( walking distance to Union sq & Powell station), clean and spacious. Would stay here again if I visit SF!

  • Great little place! Centrally located in downtown but away from the noisy, hustle bustle/sketchy areas. I stayed there for an extended period of 2 months. The bed is super soft! and Trader Joe's is RIGHT THERE. There is also a small coffee shop just around the corner on the same spot for studying/working. Christina was very responsive to anything I needed and always updated me on who was arriving and when I can expect a new roommate. Thanks Christina!

  • Great location, enjoyed staying here. Christina was great. I would say that the place was a little more dated than the photos suggest.

  • Christina always responded quickly to any questions that I had, the house was clean and had everything I needed readily available. Christina suggests taking a cab from Powell station but if you are in good shape it's not a bad walk, I did it with luggage without problem though it is up some steep hills.

I would happily stay here again. Thanks Christina.

  • This is the best way to go when visiting San Francisco. I hope there will be an opening in the future at Christina's place for future visits. It is better than a hotel, plenty of walk around room and full kitchen. We had a great time, thanks Christina!

  • She was very nice and always available. I never saw her in person but she would come occasionally to clean and check up and would keep in touch by phone.

  • I agree with most of the comments already posted. This is a great location on Nob Hill, and a good price compared to pricey hotels in the area. There is a lot of noise from street and radiator, so I suggest ear plugs at night. Kitchen is good, but basic. No microwave or toaster. Trader Joes and good café are nearby. This is a good value, and Christina is responsive to any needs.

  • I did not have a chance to meet Christina, but from our Airbnb conversation she seem very nice and willing to help if I had any problems.
The apartment was very comfortable and clean in very good location. Definitely recommended!

  • Christina's apartment is idealy situated near Union Square and close to public transportations, there's anything you want to prepare your meals in the kitchen and a fridge.
The bed is very comfortable too.
I would definitely stay here on my next visit to SF.

Extremely clean, respectful, fun, funny, out going, mostly MIA because of work and boyfriend, non invasive, great cook (when I'm home to cook), I share but never impose, Mexican/Colombian who studies Chinese medicine (go figure), I don't party or bring parties home, love my wine and prefer to rent to a female.
