Alexis and Mark was extremely helpful, welcoming, and flexible for our stay. The location was easy to find and accessible to bus, food, etc which made our stay very productive. Room fit two people moderately well and bedding was very comfortable and clean. Gunny (their dog) is also adorable, quiet, and a petting magnet. Definitely recommend and would stay at again.
My third stay here and the experience was as smooth as ever. Flexible, relaxed and welcoming.
Staying with Alexis & Mark has become my first choice when visiting Ithaca. They are warm friendly people who are welcoming yet totally respectful of guests' privacy. The accommodations are excellent. I especially appreciate the little special touches such as having a pitcher of filtered water waiting for me on the nightstand. I get bathroom envy every time I enter the spacious & lovely shared bathroom; it's fantastic! The location is perfect for walking to yoga, resturaunts, the commons, & the theatre. This is my third stay with Alexis & Mark & I am certain it won't be my last.
Alexis and Mark are very friendly, helpful and reachable. Even though we booked the room within 24 hours upon arrival, they accepted our request promptly and gave us meaningful directory for our visit. We came after midnight, but they had no problem with it. They even prepared water in our room and left the lights on for us. How considerate! The house is vintage, cozy and clean. We find our room lovely and good for two people to stay. The location is great, within 5-10 minutes walk to downtown Commons. The super sweet and welcoming dog is also a bonus! Overall, this experience with Alexis and Mark are wonderful. We really appreciate what they did for us, though personally I think the price could be somewhat lower.
I was stranded in Ithaca, after a snowstorm grounded flights out of town, and in the flurry of oh-no!-what-now?, I was incredibly lucky to find this bright, totally boss room close to downtown.
I reached out to Alexis & Mark on a Friday afternoon, and they got back to me within the hour. (I can't stress how generous and life-saving this courtesy was. Excellent Airbnd-manship!) They switched me from the "Cozy Room" into the "Lovely Room" with a queen sized-bed and secretary desk. When I showed up, they gave me the grand tour, the WiFi password, and the door key to come and go as I pleased. Painless.
The house is quiet and filled with personality, including an excellent tiled bathroom with soaking tub and a kitchen with the biggest island I've ever seen. A nice touch: a pitcher of water waiting by the bed. Free coffee, towels, and soap. Alexis, Mark, and Gunny (a good-mannered bull terrier) are cheerful, approachable, and impeccable hosts. Lots of goodwill.
Quaint room with the necessary amenities. If you're looking for the essentials close to downtown this stay has it.
Alexis and Mark are very friendly and great hosts, the house is very nice and comfortable, recommended
Great stay with Alexis and Mark in Ithaca. The room and house was even nicer than my boyfriend and I expected. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. Alexis and Mark were very welcoming when we arrived. Also, the location was perfect for walking around downtown Ithaca. Would definitely recommend their house for anyone traveling through town.
This was the best airbnb experience I've ever had. My boyfriend and I stayed at Alexis and Mark's home - it was an adorable house with lots of character!
They were gracious enough to let us arrive a little earlier than normal check-in time, as we had to get ready for a wedding quickly. The key and welcome letter were waiting in the mailbox upon our arrival, the room was equipped with fresh linens and towels (email hidden) unit, and the bathroom was incredibly clean. There was plenty of coffee and english muffins/bagels available for us the next morning. We were able to meet our hosts, which was also very enjoyable. They gave us some great advice on where to eat brunch, which gorge to check out, etc.
We felt like we had plenty of space and privacy even though there were a few other guests staying in the house at the same time. And we never felt like we were intruding on anyone else's stay.
Alexis and Mark's home is comfortable, clean, and relaxing (we also love their dog Zeus). What a perfect little weekend getaway! We hope to return one day.
Mark and Alexis were great hosts. The house is in a lovely neighbourhood and close to town and a bunch of restaurants and bars. We really appreciated the breakfast and coffee. Thanks so much for the great stay!
