Sunny, airy, spacious, quiet, clean, pet-less, non-smoking one-bedroom apartment in the North Slope (northern portion of Park Slope, Brooklyn) just two blocks from gorgeous Prospect Park, and not much further to the Brooklyn Museum and Botanic Gardens.
The apartment has a comfortable living room with two windows, A/C unit, TV, a fold-out couch, and coffee table. The bedroom has one window, a ceiling fan, a full-size bed which is very comfy, a dresser and a small vanity. The bathroom has a full tub/shower with fantastic water pressure. The kitchen is basic but well-stocked with good quality cookware and a small dishwasher and a little nook with a table and chairs to eat at under the skylight.
Even though the couch does fold out to a full-sized bed, I would like to keep the total occupants down to just two people.
The sunlight, high ceilings and shiny wood floors lend a cheerful and yet calming vibe.
The apartment is situated in a 3rd-floor walk-up building. It faces the back, so it's extremely quiet by NYC standards.
Park Slope is a charming, super-safe and very chill area with lots to do. Near many great restaurants, adorable coffee shops, boutiques, and cool bars.
Walk to either the 2/3 trains or Q/B trains in 5 minutes. The Q will have you in Union Sq in Manhattan in 20 minutes or less, to Times Sq in 30. The B can get you to West 4th St in the Village in the same amount of time. The 2/3 can get you to the Financial District or Tribeca in 15 min, to the UWS in 45. Walk to Prospect Park and the farmer's market at Grand Army Plaza in 5 minutes. Walk to Fort Greene in 15-20. Hop the Q or B out to Coney Island or Brighton Beach and be there in 40 minutes.
Bonus if you are a yoga practitioner-- feel free to use the full set of props: I have 4 blocks, 4 blankets, 2 bolsters, 2 belts, a backless Iyengar chair, a balance ball, etc. And there is plenty of space for you to practice.
You'll find coin-operated washers and dryers in the basement. You can use my detergent. :-)
Marisa is a perfect hostess. Very accommodating and timely. With the heat wave while we were there, the air conditioning unit in the living room was much appreciated! Great location too!!!
Marisa was a phenomenal host and her apartment is truly wonderful! Clean, lovely, in a quiet building and convenient to great restaurants, shopping, grocery stores and the subway. It was a great experience and was perfect for us!
The apartment was amazing - clean, comfortable, perfectly located and had everything you could possibly want. Marisa was very responsive with any questions and even left a care package which was much appreciated. I will certainly be arranging my trips to New York around availability at her apartment in future.
Marisa's place is perfect if you're looking for a quiet, local neighborhood with easy access to local transportation. It was the perfect size for 1 and I'm sure sure would also be plenty of space for 2 people. Marisa was quick to respond to all my inquiries and was so helpful in getting/returning the keys.
It's set up and decorated perfectly to make you feel comfortable and at home while on vacation. The location is amazing - close to many great coffee shops, restaurants and grocery stores. Prospect Park is 2 blocks away (with a Saturday Farmer's Market!), and catching the subway to Manhattan or other parts of Brooklyn is only blocks away. It's the perfect place if you want a peaceful location with easy access to the rest of the city.
Marisa was a wonderful host, and we loved staying at her place. She made an effort to meet us in person beforehand to show us around; she left the apartment for us in spotless condition and well stocked with everything (dishes, linens, spices and cooking supplies) that we might need. The apartment is in a great location- close to everything in Park Slope, including great food, shops, subways, buses and the park. I would recommend the apartment as a fantastic place to stay in Brooklyn.
Staying at Marisa's home was a great experience. Her apartment is a good size and wonderfully laid out and decorated. It is also a short walk from a couple different subways, and situated in the beautiful heart of Park Slope. Marisa was very helpful and it was easy getting / returning the keys. If you want to stay in low key, beautiful neighborhood with convenient local access to the parks, restaurants, shopping and a short subway ride away to all that Manhattan offers, look no further!
