Linda is an absolute joy, and be ready for a vacation you will never forget!
We felt at home, cared for, and everything was simply perfect.
The house was spotless and stunning: a really gorgeous place!
We took some time to vacation with our kitty and our dog and she even had little treats for them when we arrived!
We spent most of our time cooking and relaxing, and Linda told us about some beautiful hiking trails right around the corner from the house.
We cannot wait to return to her beautiful place and would VERY HIGHLY recommend this spot to all family and friends!
Thank you Linda! :)
Linda's space is beautiful, quiet and set in the picturesque mountains of Calabasas. Close to hiking, and 15 minutes to Malibu, it's the perfect location for anyone wanting to be close to the city without all the hustle and bustle. Loved it!
Linda was a gracious host! I am a film student at California State University Northridge, and had inquired about shooting a short film on Linda's property. We met, and she accepted my proposal! She told me everything there was to know about the property, with a kind and welcoming attitude. She has two sweet cats, who we didn't see much of. Linda even helped us when we had a question about the property late at night. I called her up, and she was gracious enough to lend her time to help us.
Linda's guest home is just as cozy, comfortable, and quiet as the pictures show. She has been a wonderful host, putting our comfort first and foremost. She's the kind of person you could not help but like. Her messages are signed "with love from the iClouds" and she is generally a very peaceful and mellow person.
I can compare the experience to an upscale boutique bed and breakfast, but with more character and more privacy. The kitchen is very well-stocked with a large window looking out a beautiful view. She had the entire place redone recently and furnished it so that she might move in herself, so you can expect the very best and most precise attention to detail.
The best words to describe it would be charming and quiet. What we really enjoyed was that unlike many other guest homes, this one was partially separate from the main house but in a charming way. It is on the second story, above the garage/laundry room. Many guest homes seem to be displaced in the backyard somewhere but definitely not Linda's place. You have a private deck/patio overlooking the driveway and of course a beautiful view. If you enjoy nature, Linda's yard is full of greenery and just that.
Enjoy your stay, and don't forget to look up at the stars. Being on the hills, they seem just out of reach.
My partner and me had been wanting to get down to LA for a very long time but I had been pretty much debilitated by a spinal injury from August through November. Living in Oakland is very "city" and going to LA can be somewhat stressful at times so coming out of an injury we wanted to stay somewhere peaceful, easy for me to walk into & warm. Linda's guest house was amazing! Not only is it absolutely decorated perfect that you could go live there full time it also has the best of the best in fixtures, furniture, floors, appliances, mattress etc. Linda obviously has traveled in her life & she has used that knowledge in setting up her guest house as a five star suite. The floors are gorgeous!!! The sound of fountains surround you when you are sitting on the patio. There is something really special about having water sounds close by..Soothing..... Beautiful Santa Monica mountain & canyon view.... Truly a gem. My partner and me slept like babies which was much needed. I didn't want to leave! Linda greeted us when we arrived and took time to talk to us about the area, our stay and anything we might need to know about the property... Her garden is magical. I highly suggest staying at landscape artists home because you know the grounds will be impeccable. This place was so great we actually want to go back soon. We haven't put LA on the calendar much because it isn't that relaxed for us but now after staying at Linda's guest house we now feel like we could go back often... If you want to relax, sleep well, be greeted by a wonderful warm woman such as Linda & enjoy nature I would say go stay there. It's like a high end hotel cottage or suite in the mountains of LA.. Perfect. Absolutely wonderful magical place! We will be back! Thank you Linda & Fig the dog! We didn't want to leave... I can't wait to see you & your doggie again! Thanks a million for hosting an amazing space for me to come stay after a rough time...
We had a lovely stay! This retreat is the perfect getaway. The mountains are relaxing, and the sunset from the gorgeous garden patio is truly amazing. Linda couldn't have been more fantastic and helpful. She gave us a plethora of ideas for things to do in the area, and made us feel right at home.
What a great time we had in Calabasas. Linda was great to work with and her place was amazing!!! The mountain views were great and being 15 minutes from Malibu was nice. We look forward to coming back soon!!!
I am a landscape contractor, working all over greater Los Angeles county. My favorite garden is my own, where I spend Saturdays taking care of everything, making the garden special for my guests, fairies and other garden visitors seen or unseen. Myself, Fig, my norfolk terrier, cats Sally and Jet all look forward to time off from work, when we can enjoy the garden, a hike in the mountains a swim at Pepperdine or a relaxing time with friends. I grew up in Boston, traveling west with all the other hippies of the day, with a flower in my hair! I lived in the bay area from 71' til 84'........have I given away my age :-) I owned and operated a flower shop in San Anselmo until I moved to Malibu where I have lived since.......just up the road now, in Calabasas, where I can be closer to the mountains!
