Need some peace and quiet? Want to get back in touch with nature? This former chicken coop is located on a 28-acre working organic farm, with vegetables, sheep, goats, chickens and a few dogs and cats. Kitchen area with stove and oven (bake your own bread), single daybed, bath with shower, private outdoor sitting area with hammock. Beautifully furnished with nearly everything you need except meals (collect eggs from the hens and pick your own strawberries for breakfast, or head down the road to the tiny, historic town of Tomales for a great bakery).
Eight miles from Petaluma downtown (unique antique shops, great restaurants), six miles from the coast (Dillon Beach), great bike-riding country (bike available on request). Come harvest your own dinner, start that novel, or simply relax on the sheltered porch. Art studio may be available by special arrangement.
28 acres of farmland, fresh vegetables and eggs, a view across Two Rock Valley, sunsets galore, and peace.
As little as they want, as much as they need.
The views, the quiet, new lambs and cashmere goat kids, EVERYTHING!
Just as lovely and relaxing as I'd hoped! Great produce and fresh eggs, warm and welcoming hosts, and perfect for unwinding. I can't wait to come back...
i loved my cozy getaway to deborah's farm. it was lovely to sit in the field by the strawberries and eat right from the vines, to feed the goats, pet the dogs, read in the hammock, and get (and cook) farm fresh eggs! i would highly recommend it for a farm getaway!
This cottage is set on a beautiful farm amidst the softly rolling countryside of west Sonoma County. You can feel the love and care that have gone into creating and maintaining the farm, and the cottage is part of that. The space is cozy, and although small, it does not feel at all cramped. Deborah made me feel instantly at home, as did the cats and dogs. You'll get to eat some of the best strawberries and eggs you've ever tasted (assuming the season is on). This is also a perfect location for exploring the coast from Point Reyes to Bodega Bay and Sonoma County towns. Also a great place to bike. My stay was way too short and I'm plotting how to get back.
I was so happy to be there and wish I'd had more time to hang out.
A truly lovely experience. Loved meeting the furry family and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Love love love this farm. Deborah and Tim are wonderful. Tim's paintings are beautiful. The animals are all so sweet, especially the dogs. Gathering my own fresh eggs, arugula, chard, strawberries, etc. for breakfast was amazing. It was so relaxing and peaceful. I can't wait to come back!
When I arrived at the cottage, I was greeted by two of the sweetest dogs, a basket of fresh picked strawberries, and the friendly and accommodating host. The place is lovely, the location is fantastic. I have never felt so refreshed after a two day vacation and will definitely be back!
I loved my stay at Tiny Cottage on Canvas Farm.
The timing of my May visit was almost perfect (it was very windy weekend all over the Bay Area). Recent rains greened up the rolling hills that were dotted with sheep, goats and very contented cows - the site reminded me of my visit to the 'emerald isle' without the hassle of international flight.
The cottage is exactly what you see in the picture; compact, full of light & containing everything you need for meal preparation should you want to cook. Thank you Deborah for the invitation to savor your amazing strawberries & pale blue chicken eggs collected from 'the girls'. I so enjoyed my weekend retreat, and reluctantly returned home, albeit, well rested. I look forward to a return visit & will tell my single friends to visit soon.
When I arrived Deborah greeted me warmly and gave me the tour. By the end, I was in love with this farm and did not want to leave to go to my event in Pt Reyes Station! The cottage is lovely and cozy and has everything you need. Animals are all around you sheep, goats, chickens and some very lovable and loving dogs and cats. Deborah and Tim are two of the nicest people you want to meet and are so gracious and kind to share this piece of heaven with others. If you live in the bay area and just need to get away for a peaceful weekend alone ..to write, to play or to eat fresh farm eggs you got yourself, or to just reward yourself with a gorgeous sunset or sunrise out on a wonderful farm, GO HERE. OR if you traveling and need a place to just chill, this is it but it is also in this beautiful valley, not far from Pt Reyes, near Petaluma in the beautiful Sonoma County. Deborah and Tim - thank you so much and I cannot wait to go back!
Wonderful! I had a such a relaxing, happy stay at the farm. The cottage, the animals, the hosts - everything was perfect. I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for an escape. Very rejuvenating.
Such a perfect place to retreat from the city for the weekend. Deborah and Tim are so kind and great hosts. The farm is much larger than I imagined- sheep, chickens, dogs, tons of fresh fruit and vegetables. Highly recommend my stay here.
