The building is very well located (in Badr street) in the very center of Marrakech, in the Guéliz area, just next to the Place du 16 Novembre and new Marrakech Plazza. You will find a lot of restaurants, shops, services in this area. It will take you only 15 minutes by walking to reach Jemaa El-Fnaa and the Medina (historicarea) or less than 5 minutes by taxi for 1€ only .

We were collected from the airport as pre-arranged. Lady who only spoke French handed over the keys to the flat. The flat was clean and sparsely equipped in the kitchen. The location of the flat is good as a 20 minute walk will take you to Jemaa el fna. As Clayton mentioned in his review, there was only one toilet roll for our 4 night stay and the shower doors nearly fell off as he described. We never got any Wi-Fi in the flat as the router was in the other flat and solid walls in between blocked the access. I think Athis should have some instructions written down for the safe, micro and cable TV. It was also strange that the water pressure used to drop from 10:30 till the afternoon. All in All nice safe location.
Quelle vue ! Expérience incroyable que de découvrir Marrakesh avec cette double terrasse si agréable ! Hôte parfait et prévenant, je reviendrai !
When we first arrived, the building manager (I think his Mother?) was not even aware of our arrival. The room was not the room I purchased.
The first room she gave me had no Wifi. The second room had Wifi but the bed was extremely uncomfortable (as hard as laying on the floor). The next day, they moved us to the room we were supposed to have and I could see that someone was staying there the day before.
This room smelled like a dirty ashtray. And I'm not picky (in fact, I used to smoke), but this smell was beyond bad. We removed all pillows, couch cushions, etc. (basically everything cloth) from the room and put it on the balcony and opened all doors and windows and then left for the day. When we got back it was still smelly, but we sprayed air freshener and slept anyways. The next day we left everything out again and by the 2nd night it was ok.
On the second night, the internet went down and never came back up. The owner's brother (who was very nice) went and got me a 3g USB dongle, but it was too slow to do anything other than get email when it worked. We had no internet access for other devices (ipad, mobile phones or my Wife's work computer).
The room itself was not very well taken care of, the bathroom shower doors feel off when I took a shower. There was no food, no dish soap, etc. (our other Airbnb apartment in Vienna was fully stocked with foods, assorted tea's, espresso machine, etc.). There was only a single roll toilet paper for a 4 night stay.
In hindsight, I should have stuck to a hotel for a place like Marrakech. I will caution anyone thinking about using Airbnb to think again and just stick to a hotel in this part of the world.
Once last comment: The pictures from this room are an assortment of multiple pictures from multiple rooms. They are also very misleading and the actual rooms were much less attractive.
I must say I'm a bit surprised about Clayton comment, as we (me and my parents) really try our best for our guests to feel at home. Except for the Wi-Fi the last day, we didn't receive any information about problems he mentioned. we are sure we will be happy to help if we were noticed. So I really would like to answer and make it clear : All rooms have fast connection WI-FI. You're right the last day WIFI didn't work as there was a technical problem from our provider. However, as soon as you told us we offered you for free a 3G Dongle with no limit. Of course right now it is solved and the Wifi works very well. About the cigarette smell, we are extremely careful about our guest comfort. Everything is cleaned and checked every time. However you didn't even tell us it was smelly. If you told us, I would ask our housekeeper to make it smells good. For information, everything is provided (excepted food!): bottle of water, soap, towels, toilet paper.... Last point: what Clayton wrote about pictures is not true! Pictures are taken by airbnb (there are not an assortment of multiple pictures from multiple rooms as Clayton wrote!) Well I invite people to read others positive comments and make their minds.
The written communication via Airbnb was in English and Athis was very helpful and also organised a taxi transfer upon request. The lady, I forget her name, who provided us the key and showed us the apartment, only spoke French, so it was a bit more challenging, but I think we did alright from both sides. Due to a family emergency we had to leave unexpectedly and two days earlier than planned. Fortunately, the lady lived in the apartment across from us and was already awake early in the morning and was thus able to check us out.
As for the apartment, it is a great location and in walking distance from the old city and the majority of the tourist attractions. It is located next to a busy intersection, so it is a bit noisy, but that is part of the city's charm, so we did not experience that as a disturbance. Can highly recommend this apartment.
