We stayed at the apartment for two weeks in July 2013. When we arrived in Podstrana we easily got in touch with Jure. We got the keys and a brief introduction to the apartment. The apartment looked exactly like the pictures from the airbnb ad. Nice, new and clean. During our stay, Jure and his family were very helpful and friendly. Halfway through our stay we got new linen and towels, great! The beach is really close and quiet. There is only a few restaurants/bars nearby (walking distance). There is also a market nearby were you can find everyday groceries. We recommend the restaurant at Neva Hotel or E Lounge at the beach if you want anything to drink or just chillout. There is a bus which goes to Split or the direction of Omis about two times an hour. It takes about 30 minutes to Split and about 15 minutes to Omis. In Omis there a lot of restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our vacation in Podstrana and will easily recommend Jure's apartments.
Jure and his wife were very friendly and good hosts. Communication and check in as well as check out was very easy.
The location of the apartment is great! Only a 15mins drive away from the center of Split directly by the sea. Only separated by the main street (not much traffic as we went in December but could be more in summer).
However, when we arrived the apartment was very humid and cold. Assume it has not been heated since weeks. In addition Jure forgot to switch on the hot water so it took over 45mins until we had hot water. Also the matress and bed linen were a bit humid... In addition a separate heating for the bathroom would be needed as the main heater in the living room was not sufficient to heat the bathroom.
The apartment was very clean. All in all our stay was ok.
I spent 8 days in Jure's apartment in Podstrana. The communication with the host and an organisation with regard to check-in/ check-out was perfect. Jure and his family live just next door and have been very helpful with advice during my stay. The entire atmosphere was friendly and relaxing.
Podstrana is located between Split (10km) and Omis (15km) and can be comfortably reached either by car or by public transportation. To get there from the Split airport you need to take a tourist bus on the right side of the airport building. It gets you to Split Main Bus Station in around 30 minutes. The public bus number 60 to Omis (through Podstrana) runs until midnight every 30 min from the bus station Pazar (3 min walk from the Main Bus Station) for only 14 Knc. There are also some private small busses, servicing the same route. You need to get off at Marinac (well known by bus drivers). Jure's apartment is on opposite side of the road just 2 minutes walk from there.
Day trips can be easily organized, using the same bus to Split (nice old city center) and Omis (small cozy town at Cestina river - definitely worth to see).
The apartment is located at the range of Podstrana. The area is calm and quite (for night life you would need going to Split). The gravel beach with a cristal clear water is 2 minutes away. There are few bars on the right side of the beach within 10 minutes walking distance.
There is a nice, well marked hiking trail up the hill to the Stara Podstrana, starting from Mutogras.
The apartment itself is newly built, very clean and comfortable. It is equiped with wifi, gas stove, AC, bed room with one double and one single bed and has a separate entrance and a terrase. There is no TV, but it was anyway less important during the holidays for me. There is a tiny shop in 5 minutes walking distance, where you can buy some eggs, milk, fresh white bread/ baguette for your breakfast. The traditional family-owned restarant Marinac serves very good grilled meat and fish. Best coffee is in a beach bar with white chairs.
Overall it was a great and very relaxing time. Many thanks to Jure and his family for their hospitality.
