Hola! I am a Catalan girl in my thirties living in a nice spacious apartment with lots of light and a friendly cat. My boyfriend spends time in the apartment too when he's not travelling. I offer you a private doubleroom with a window (interior but big), a wardrobe, bed linen and towels, our kitchen and bathroom, living room and a lovely balcony where you can enjoy breakfast in the sun or a glass of wine in the moonlight! The building has a lift and is over 100 years old, keeping some modernist features like original floor tiles and high ceilings with corniche. The apartment is fully refurbished with modern amenities that you are welcome to use (WiFi, washer, fridge, hair dryer, etc.).

Located in one of Barcelona's main avenues between Plaça Espanya and Plaça Universitat, we are in a really convenient place arriving from the airport (bus stops only 10 minutes away). Our building is in a very safe zone on the border between Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni. It is very central but not touristy and therefore quiet. Even though we are on one of the main arteries of the city, our apartment faces a courtyard so there is no traffic noise.

Only 10 minutes away is Plaça Espanya and Montjuic, where you will find the magic fountain, the Miró and National Art museums, Poble Español, the castle and botanical gardens, and a new shopping centre built in an old bull ring. Fifteen minutes in the other direction you will arrive to Passeig de Gracia—full of shops and modernist buildings—and to Plaça Catalunya-Las Ramblas: Barcelona's most central area. The lively and multicultural Raval and Poble Sec neighbourhoods are only 15 minutes away and offer a wide choice of bars and restaurants.

Most attractions or famous streets are literally a short stroll away. We are right outside the Rocafort metro station (Line 1- red line) so you can easily connect to any part of the city using this method of transport if you prefer to. Two blocks away they also rent bicycles for 5€ per day, a great way to move around the city!

Note on the cat: she is sweet and she does her own thing and won't enter your room if you just close the door :)

I will be happy to help you with any questions you may have!

Guest access

Guests are welcome to use all areas of the flat except my bedroom.

Interaction with guests

I am normally in the apartment when I have guests as I like to meet them. They are welcome to join me out with my friends. It could also happen that I spend some time away, especially at weekends.

The neighborhood

Sant Antoni-Eixample is a safe neighborhood with broad streets, majestic buildings and a population of locals mainly. It is not in the super touristy area, which makes it quiet but at the same time only a 15-minute walk to the main square of Barcelona and the Montjuic attractions.

Getting around

The metro stops right outside the house. Communication with the airport is also handy, with a bus stop located only 10 minutes away by foot.

I'm from Barcelona even though I spent four years living in Ireland. I work in an international communications agency and love my nights out socialising but I also appreciate relaxing at home during my workingdays. I always loved meeting people from other parts of the world so I have a big group of international friends in Barcelona.

Being a local I know the city very well and can recommend you places to go, eat, and how to get there etc. I'm easy going and I like people to feel comfortable, so to the extent that I can I will help you with any doubts you may have. I will be happy to have you staying with me!
