My cozy apartment is central and will be a good base to explore the city. In a safe area and with nice places to eat out at a walking distance, you will also be able to get to tourist attractions by foot, or by metro should you prefer that transport.
I recommend that you send me a little note to check availability before attempting to book - cheers!
Hola! I am a Catalan girl in my thirties living in a nice spacious apartment with lots of light and two friendly cats. My boyfriend spends time in the apartment too when he's not travelling. I offer you a private doubleroom with a window (interior but big), a wardrobe, bed linen and towels, our kitchen and bathroom, living room and a lovely balcony where you can enjoy breakfast in the sun or a glass of wine in the moonlight! The building has a lift and is over 100 years old, keeping some modernist features like original floor tiles and high ceilings with corniche. The apartment is fully refurbished with modern amenities that you are welcome to use (WiFi, washer, fridge, hair dryer, etc.).
Located in one of Barcelona's main avenues between Plaça Espanya and Plaça Universitat, we are in a really convenient place arriving from the airport (bus stops only 10 minutes away). Our building is in a very safe zone on the border between Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni. It is very central but not touristy and therefore quiet. Even though we are on one of the main arteries of the city, our apartment faces a courtyard so there is no traffic noise.
Only 10 minutes away is Plaça Espanya and Montjuic, where you will find the magic fountain, the Miró and National Art museums, Poble Español, the castle and botanical gardens, and a new shopping centre built in an old bull ring. Fifteen minutes in the other direction you will arrive to Passeig de Gracia—full of shops and modernist buildings—and to Plaça Catalunya-Las Ramblas: Barcelona's most central area. The lively and multicultural Raval and Poble Sec neighbourhoods are only 15 minutes away and offer a wide choice of bars and restaurants.
Most attractions or famous streets are literally a short stroll away. We are right outside the Rocafort metro station (Line 1- red line) so you can easily connect to any part of the city using this method of transport if you prefer to. Two blocks away they also rent bicycles for 5€ per day, a great way to move around the city!
Note on WiFi: If you are looking for WiFi to download videos, play music or do serious work, the connection at my apartment sometimes is not that strong. It is good to check emails, whatsapp, and that sort of thing. There are areas in the flat where it is stronger than others, and it doesn't reach the guest room. So if you want to connect from your room all the time, you may want to stay elsewhere. If you want to enjoy the city and are not so worried about laying in bed checking the net my WiFi is perfect.
Note on the cats: they are sweet and they do their own thing and won't enter your room if you just close the door :)
I will be happy to help you with any questions you may have!
Guests are welcome to use all areas of the flat except my bedroom.
Interaction with Guests
I am normally in the apartment when I have guests as I like to meet them. They are welcome to join me out with my friends. It could also happen that I spend some time away, especially at weekends.
Sant Antoni-Eixample is a safe neighborhood with broad streets, majestic buildings and a population of locals mainly. It is not in the super touristy area, which makes it quiet but at the same time only a 15-minute walk to the main square of Barcelona and the Montjuic attractions.
The metro stops right outside the house. Communication with the airport is also handy, with a bus stop located only 10 minutes away by foot.
Treat the apartment as if it were yours.
Keep everything as tidy as you found it.
Smoke in the balcony.
The cats need to access all areas except your bedroom.
Excelente, gracias por la confianza. El único detalle es mejorar la conexión a Internet, de resto, todo de maravilla.
Ari is really nice, and the house is very very clean.
During my stance there the cats never were a disturb. There is not like some places I was and all the house smells like a cat:)
The cats are very cleans!!!
The entrance to the tube just 50 meters from the house is fantastic!!!
She always was ready to help me and suggest about what to do in the city.
Ari is just the best. That is all there is to it. I had a friend need a place last minute and it was not a problem, she hosted us with open arms and bright smiles. She is a very genuine person and generous as well, welcoming us with beers and information on where to go. I would have never experienced the great food of Barcelona, if it wasn't for her. The place is amazing, cats are hilarious and location is perfect. I hope to be back in Barcelona soon and I would definitely stay here again!
Ari was a very helpful and friendly host, and I enjoyed my staying at her appartment. I was looking for a place were I could feel like in home, so I could cook for myself and enjoy my free time (I was working in Barcelona for two weeks) Ari was super busy but the time we coincide at the flat was very nice, and shared some meals and conversations. The flat is super well situated , near plaza españa, which is great. No noise from the outside, althought some noise from the neighboors (no noise after 11pm) The only downside is the internet. Ari does prevent you that there is no internet at the appartment. For me, the internet worked on my laptop, but barely on my tablet. For me a place without a super fast connection was not needed, but for others it might be.
I spent great time in Barcelona. Ari hosted me with a beer on the balcony then she proposed me to eat some tapas in a nice place she knows. She's friendly and will give you good adresses if you need it. The appartment is big, nice and charming. The area is cool, It´s 10mn walking from the ramblas and you have a metro station just at the corner of the street. She has two cats that are cute and will be very friendly with you. You will have a very confortable stay. Thanks and see you next time in Barcelona !
My trip started with a warm Welcome in Ari's place. She told me about all good places around and gave a good feeling for the coming days. The room is small but cosy, the only window of the room leads to an ventilation shaft or staircase which can be sometimes a bit loud from the neighbours around but better than a busy street of barcelone.A small balcony and lighten living room to the backyard give you space to relax from a daytrip in Barcelone.I totaly recommend to stay with Ari and hope to come back!Thank you Ari!
I really enjoyed staying with Ari at her apartment. She made me feel very welcome, and I liked the apartment. The room was airy and more than adequate in size for me. The neighborhood was great-restaurants nearby, the metro half a block away and near some of the major tourist areas.
I'm from Barcelona even though I spent four years living in Ireland. I work in an international communications agency and love my nights out socialising but I also appreciate relaxing at home during my workingdays. I always loved meeting people from other parts of the world so I have a big group of international friends in Barcelona.
Being a local I know the city very well and can recommend you places to go, eat, and how to get there etc. I'm easy going and I like people to feel comfortable, so to the extent that I can I will help you with any doubts you may have. I will be happy to have you staying with me!
