This is an open plan studio apartment on the first floor of an apartment block in the Barbican Estate. At the very heart of the City of London, it is well laid out and comfortable for 2 people. There is a Queen size bed and plenty of hanging and storage space. It benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows along the entire side of the property with access to a private balcony running alongside the same length.

The flat has everything you want including a well equipped kitchen should you decide to eat in and a newly refurbished bathroom with a shower and a bath. It is very well located: Barbican underground station is across the street less than 30 seconds walk from the apartment. Many of London's greatest attractions are a very short tube/bus/taxi ride away including the shopping district of Oxford St, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, as well as the brand new Olympic Park home to eight venues - including the iconic Olympic Stadium, Aquatics Centre and Velodrome - during this summer's London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Barbican Estate is a unique 35-acre site in the very heart of London consisting of residential apartments grouped around lakes and green squares within the complex and is listed Grade II by the UK Government as a Building of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. The Barbican Estate also contains the Barbican Centre - the largest performing arts centre in Europe hosting classical and contemporary music concerts, theatre performances, film screenings and art exhibitions. The apartment benefits from an underground car park, with direct access from the lift. The first 5hrs of parking each day are free, with a charge of £9 for each 24 hour period. For Zipcar members, you can enjoy the convenience of a number vehicles located in the car park, including an Audi A3, BMW 3 Series, and a Volkswagen (website hidden) UNDERGROUND

The Barbican Centre is 1min walk from the apartment where you can access the same Wi-Fi hotspot but at much higher speeds, with plenty of seating and power outlets available in the lobby and main hall (open 24hrs), as well as the cafe's and restaurants.

  • What a wonderful week I had in London and this little gem of a flat was perfect for me. It was modern, clean and had all the comforts of home. Hasan (email hidden) and very lovely (website hidden) up to get the keys and show me around, was as easy. Tube station was literally a 2 min walk, lots of nice little restaurants and the Tesco express directly across the street, made everything so convenient. Having the iPhone for local calls and texting was brilliant, what a great "extra". Hasan had it set up with (website hidden) maps, tube station map, as well as his contact info, should I need any assistance. I would not hesitate to stay there again or to recommend it to friends. Thank you Hasan for your hospitality!

  • Останавливались в этой квартире на 3 ночи. Квартира небольшая, но очень чистая, никаких замечаний по поводу состояния. Кровать достаточно удобная.
    Наличие балкона, конечно, большое удобство. Чай, кофе и даже пиво былим любезно оставлены хозяевами.
    Очень занятный район Барбикан, особенно впечатляет, конечно, терраса с озером, не хотелось оттудда уходить. Кроме того ключ от входной двери дома подходил к калиткам, ведущим в сады для местных жителей, а там огромные каштаны, скамейки, газон, на котором можно лежать и по которому постоянно скачут белки, и это в центре Сити. До метро Барбикан минута ходьбы, так же как и до маленького Теско. В общем для короткой поездки - прекрасный выбор. Очень коммуникабельные и доброжелательные хозяева.

    We stayed for three nights. The flat is not large but it's perfectly clean and convenient. The bed is comfort enough. Balcony is great advantage.
    Hosts are really helpful and kind (despite of my English and late arriving). The Barbican is very interesting and peaceful place and worth to spend a full day just in it.

  • We stayed for three nights in this wonderful apartment. It was the perfect base for a weekend in London. It is well situated and surprisingly quiet. The Barbican is fascinating in it's own right (email hidden) to explore. We'd stay again if available. Amin, Maryam & Hassan were really helpful and made the whole experience a pleasure.

  • Flat was great... the location is fantastic being connected to the Barbican station so you can always find your way home without a map. Also, the use of the data on the iPhone was incredibly helpful. Check in/out was flawless and communication was excellent. A+

  • We had a wonderful time at the modern clean central London flat, it was so easy to go everywhere on the tube as the station was just over the road and Amin and Hassan were unbelievably helpful they even got new pillows for us which were higher and more what we were used to.You could not ask for nicer hosts.The supermarket was just over the road as well and a wonderful Italian restaurant also.I would go back there to stay if ever I visit London again and I highly recommend it to anyone else.

We've lived in London with the rest of our family for over 20 years. We work in healthcare and IT and enjoy travelling - some of our favourite trips have been to Formentera, Beirut, Las Vegas, and the Amalfi Coast, and a couple of great road trips through France and California, USA respectively. I enjoy going to the gym, Amin's favourite movie is The Shawshank Redemption, and Maryam lives for E! News. We love varying foods from all over the world but our common guilty pleasure is ice cream which we only eat on Sunday's because too much ice cream is not good for you :-)
