The Space

(Note, My cat is no longer around). A Railhouse style apartment building in one of the best neighborhoods in SF. Minutes walk from a multitude of Shops, Bars, Cafes and Public Transportation. A 2 block from the constantly active Mission District. There is not parking or laundry included in the unit. However street parking is generally fairly easy to get, as well there are 2 laundromats within a block of the unit.

There is a 32" Flat Screen TV. A great well lit workspace for writing. The queen sized bed in the main bedroom can accommodate 2 people comfortably and the layout couch in the living room can hold two people as well. There is also a queen sized blow up mattress just in case.

Guest Access

The entire apartment.

Interaction with Guests

Just enough to make sure everything is working out for them

The Neighborhood

So many great places to shop, eat and drink within just a few blocks as well as a great view of Sutro Tower

Getting around

Yes Bart as well as Muni. No public parking available. By Bart it takes about 45 minutes to get to and from my apartment, with a 6 block walk from the BART stop.

Check In
  • Steve was a great host. His instructions and details of the area were personalized and very helpful. The apartment is lovely and homely with plenty of kitchen ware to play with. The location close to the Mission, Noe and Dolores Park couldn't have suited us any better. I would not hesitate to recommend the place to anyone.

  • Steve was a great host and made himself sufficiently available during our holiday weekend stay. The internet was a bit spotty at first, because the current password wasn't updated on the welcome email, but he quickly came to the rescue. The apt itself is bright, airy, and comfortable with full amenities - his collection of vinyl and books is AMAZING. However, and without wanting to take away from our stellar review of the apt, there was a really prevalent cigarette/cigar smell in the living room. We're social smokers and it was still bothering us. The shower is quite confusing (the shower function is hidden under the bath faucet), so take note. The area was quite perfect as well if you're looking to have the overall Mission experience. We probably would stay in a different neighborhood next time only because it's a bit too reminiscent of Echo Park for us, but if we were to stay in the Mission again, Steve's place would be a perfect option. Overall, Steve was very helpful and gracious, with great recommendations and a lovely apt!

  • This is the second time we have stayed at Steve's place, an excellent home away from home.
Very clean and tidy, everything you need to cook etc.
Great location, walking distance to PT and in a nice quiet location in between Mission and Noe Valley.
    Highly recommended.

  • The apartment is indeed in a fantastic location in the Mission district. It's a good size for a one bedroom place. Steve is a very friendly host and keeps everything tidy.

There is some wear and tear about the apartment, (website hidden) the bathroom. The cat, Jackson, is really affectionate but can be noisy, including during the night. He also needed medicine while we were staying for his leg injury. So unless you're most definitely a cat person you should ask Steve to leave the cat with a neighbour (which he's happy to do).

One thing to watch out for is that the key to the outside door can be fiddly so practise unlocking it during the daytime rather than attempting it for the first time when you get back at night!

Overall, it's good value and we felt very welcome

  • This was one of the best apartments I ever rented out on airbnb.
Steve was a wonderful host, the apartment was very clean and beautifully set out.
The host thought of everything, an initial breakfast, shampoo and a very detailed and professional manual of the flat with great suggestions of what to do in the area. It was very easy to communicate with Steve and he always got back to me straight away whenever I had any questions. The highlight of the flat was Jackson the cat, who is a true gentleman!

The location is perfect, on a quiet street, close to delicious restaurants and all the cool bars.

On my next trip to San Francisco, I will definitely be staying in Steves flat again!

I spent about 10 years working too much for other people's companies and dreams. Now I am working on my own ideas and dreams. That said I tend to be traveling around a bit more than usual.
