if you are in soul and have a chance to stay @ mikyung's place, do not pass this chance by! we arrived at her house close to midnight, and she still managed to pick us up at the bus station. she told us exactly what bus to take and even the time! as soon as we entered her meticulously clean and warm house, all of our travel stress melted away (literally, as the floors are heated). her hanok house is very tastefully decorated. her home is at a dead end street, surrounded by other hanok houses, so it was very peaceful! not only is this house beautiful, it's also in a perfect location, near major tourist attractions, train and bus stations! mikyung is truly a perfect host, anticipating our needs without being intrusive (she left some plug adapters in the house for us once she realized we had the wrong plug, she gave us cold water when we returned from an excursion on a particularly hot day, and gave us a care package when we had to leave early and couldn't be there for breakfast. she even gave us a ride to the bus station on our last day!!!). & then there's her delicious breakfast, every morning, she made something new! she cleaned our rooms, every day, even when she was sick!!! this place is better than a 5 star hotel!
I would rate this my best experience in Seoul, among the many visits I have had in that city. The host is responsive, attentive to details and cares about how we spend our holiday in her country. I definitely would recommend this to my friends.
The highlight of my trip was definitely the stay at this hanok. It's so beautiful modern and clean. Everything was well provided for and I had such a wonderful and comfortable experience in this guesthouse.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Hanok stay in Seoul. Mikyung is a warm and kind host who made us feel very much at home.
She is a wonderful cook, preparing a different meal every single day for breakfast, which were a highlight of every day. We also had lots of fun playing with her delightful dog Zac.
The accommodation is very comfortable and cosy (love the heated floors) and within an easy walk to Anguk subway station. Despite being in the middle of the fairly touristy Bukchon Hanok village the house is very quiet, you wouldn't realize you were in the middle of such a busy city.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and highly recommend the accommodation.
My 3 nieces and I enjoyed our stay. We were well served with delicious traditional breakfast. The place is beautiful and there were many tourists each day when we came out of the house to venture out.
I will come back again and I have told my friends about the house too. They are also very interested and have asked me for the address.
The host is warm and friendly. She is always smiling and very helpful.
She has a friendly dog too and my nieces like to play with her.
The only thing is the slop outside the house. The last day we were making our way to the station with our lug gages, I fell on my way out as there was ice on the ground. But thank God I was not injured though.
If anyone looking for a traditional house and food, I recommend you to stay with Mi Kyung.
Mi Kyung was a very nice and helpful lady. She prepared wonderful and traditional Korean breakfast for us every morning. The food was so delicious and well-prepared.
The room was pretty clean and tidy. It was a very pleasant stay. The house was in the traditional Hanok Village, with perfect landscape.
It was very convenient to go everywhere by subway and taxi.
I highly recommend Mikyung's Hanok. You can't miss it.
Of cause, I will certainly return on my next visit.
Mi kyung was an amazing host and we love staying at her home ! Our Korean breakfast each morning was delicious ! She was very welcoming and helpful and would love to go back !
