Morleys place is as described in the listing and photos. Philip was very helpful from the time we made the booking till we checked out. He made the first connect by phone and kept in touch through out. He also made sure that he personally recieved us when we arrived. The last 50 meters to the bungalow is quite steep and we were glad he was there to recieve us and take us up the first time in his jeep. We had three infants with us and philip made sure we were comfortable and the fridge was stocked before we arrived. He also gave us tips for visiting the river and places close by. Chef and caretaker Muthu and his wife provided home cooked meals on request and was always ready to help us during our stay. Great place hosted by a wonderful host to relax away from work.

If I could give more than five stars I would, this place took our breath away.

Great experience - the house is perched on top of a tea estate with breathtaking views. Both rooms are sizeable and there is a large common area. There is wifi. The host provides breakfast but you are on your own for dinner - we ordered dinner from Springdale heritage which worked out really well. Thekkady is fun but it was nice to be a little further out and such a bucolic setting to boot.

What a find! Away from the bustle , set high above the lake. Spotlessly clean with a wonderful man,Mathu, who cooks, really great food, and looks after you. Phillip kept in touch the whole time to make we had full directions and also traveled especially to ensure he met us. Highly recommended.

Heaven. That is the only word to describe this property. I have never stayed at a place which has such an amazing view. One should go to Thekaddy only to stay at this property and enjoy the place. There are tea and cardamom plantations surrounding this property. A beautiful lake amidst the mountains and lush greenery is a sight to behold. Sitting in the veranda with a book and tea is the perfect way to enjoy this property. The place is very well maintained and clean. There is a fully functioning kitchen which was great. The caretaker Muthu cooked us amazing food and south Indian dishes on our request. The owner Philip was so amazing. He sent us videos of the property and also directions WITH PICTURES beforehand. I mean who does that nowadays. Such a humble and genuine guy. Every time I spoke to him I was amazed at his concern and the attention he gave us. Spent an amazing time here. Definitely go to this place and also trek down to the lake.

"A guest never forgets the host who had treated him kindly." And in this case we are being hosted by "super host" Morley aka Philip. If photos of this property thrilled you then believe me actual location, scenery, and the house are going to add more thrill to it. Muddy road right across from tea gardens , 2500 ft above sea level, well maintained house, large library, collection of ancient things, Rooms , bathrooms were very neat and clean. Muthu(care taker) at your service just add more cherries on the cake. He made awesome breakfast ,lunch and dinner for us. As soon as we entered the place, we never felt like it was a rented property, it was like a home away from home. About Philip, i would say he is always available, ready to help and full source of information. If you don't know where to go what to do after coming to his place, he will help you to do so with best of his knowledge. On the way from Morley's place to varkala ,, we got a chance to meet our super host and it was a one of the best moment from our trip. We had lunch together, he took us out for a ride in his Car. And last but not the least, we liked him more when he said and I quote "I don't have guests, i have friends " Indeed he is a "SuperHost" and a true friend from Kerala...!!!
