About this listing
This atmospheric apartment is situated on a very quiet cobblestone street, just one hundred meters from the old town square in medieval Tallinn. You could not be more central.
The apartment offers a large and attractive terrace, and the main bedroom that overlooks an inner courtyard, has a large and very romantic open fireplace .
We also have a single bedroom that looks out onto the terrace, a large kitchen with dinning table and a beautifully detailed bathroom with bathtub and washing machine. It is wifi connected.
An abundance of museums, old churches and restaurants are just minutes away. The Holy Ghost church, a medieval building (parts of the construction date from the 13th century) is to be found at the top of our street, as is the Tallinn city museum, housed in a 14th century merchants dwelling. Located at bottom of our quiet meandering cobblestone way is the hotel Schloessle a 5 star accommodation.
And just in case you thought Tallinn was only meant to be visited in the summer, I would like to reveal to you that during its dark and snowy months, Tallinn is one of the most romantic cities in Europe. Candle lighted cafes, an abundance of open fires in warm and welcoming restaurants, lively bars. Fewer tourists.
Autumn also brings the Dark Nights Film Festival, an international collection of some of the best and most talked about films of the year. A highlight for all of Scandinavia, and every theater in walking distance from the apartment.
It is also signal for the beginning of the music season. A time of chamber recitals, concerts and opera.
And as Christmas approaches, so does the construction of the Christmas Market in the Old Town Square. Said to be one of the best, if not the best market in all of Europe. Unique and finely crafted gifts are in abundance, as is gluh wine and Christmas cheer.
Respect the neighbours and have a good time
Old Town Tallinn is like a fairytale and Wayne's apartment adds to the experience by being in the center of the town and having its own mediëval feel (yet with all modern amenities)! A winning combination!
О пребывании в этой квартире у нас остались только приятные впечатления и воспоминания. Чисто, уютно и очень атмосферно! Приятный бонус - открытая терраса. Мы с удовольствием проводили время там! Спасибо хозяевам!
Very lovely place! We very much felt welcomed by our hosts and were greeted at a late hour which showed us their flexibility. Cute and cozy flat
Great apartment in a great location. Really close to restaurants and shops and right in the centre of the old town. The apartment was very comfortable for three of us and had everything we needed for our stay.
Amazing flat in the heart of Old Tallinn. Quiet and nice. Very easy communicate with host. Wonderful stay!
Hi Wayne, We loved your place, pretty cute. The terrace could use a woman's touch, like some flowers planted in pots. It's gets abit dark and depressing so flowers would really perk it up! We loved the location. We have found that many Airbnb renters do not live in their places any more. This used to be more common. So, I no suggest that you live there for 3 days and makes meals there and you will know what your missing. Many people like to cook with the local produce, meat etc, it's fun but a kitchen with basic stuff is really a plus. Like, a spatula and a strainer to clean vegetables. Thank you so much for meeting us and when we return to Estonia we will look you up again! Elise

About the Host, Wayne
I am an Australian writer living in both Estonia and the Netherlands. I wrote my first book while living in an old schoolhouse in the Estonian countryside. Estonia, then newly independent from the Sovjet Union, made such a deep and hopeful impression on me, that I decided to buy an apartment in Tallinn so that I would always have a home whenever I returned.
Because my work often takes me to Australia and Latin America, I am in Estonia infrequently these days, and when that is the case, guests will be received by my Estonian friend Anu Liibek.
