The Space

This is the original HackerHome and where all the magic started! Located in a quiet residential area, but a short walk to restaurants and grocery stores on El Camino. Spacious ranch style house with music instruments, work out equipment and swimming pool.

2 full bathrooms
Pool with spa - pool is warmer during the summer - heated via solar panels

Guest Access

All utilities are included and the WIFI is fast!

Clean linens/bedding are provided + a fresh towel.

Why would someone say light cooking? Home prepped meals really warms up the house and it's encouraged.

Interaction with Guests

It's a house full of people & different schedules. So please use ear plugs if necessary. If you're a light sleeper or can't sleep on a single mattress, this may not be the right place for you.

We are a very communal/respectful group and strive to provide space for everyone to work and hangout. Remember that work, musical instruments and books take precedence over the television.

Too tired to walk? We have bikes you can use that will swiftly get you places fast!

Getting around

4.5 mile bike ride along the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail to Hyatt Regency & Santa Clara Convention Center or bus 57 northbound will take you directly to the convention center (13 stops and about 20 minutes). $2 each way or $6 for a day pass. Board at the corner of Bowers Avenue and Warburton Avenue.

Other Things to Note

More than one suitcase? Consult with me prior to making your reservation.

Respectful Housing for Women
Females in a separate room. If you'd like to stay in the girls' room, please check with me on availability before reserving. If you don't have a preference, then just make your reservation.

The Airbnb cleaning fee is to make sure you have a clean bed upon arrival and not to clean up after you. All spaces are shared, so please be mindful of picking up after yourself. If you're a longer term guest, remember to use one bath towel and wash it with your own load of laundry.

  • Awesome first time experience with airbnb. Everyone at the house was very conscientious and Vic made it a point to be a great host, connecting me to others in the hacker home network. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • It was an absolute pleasure to call Vic's HackerHome home for a week. And home it felt almost instantly. Such a great group of people to hang with and generally excellent vibe. The only regret was that I was not able to stay for longer!

  • "Home away from home!" like Vic put it.
Vic and Sarah are awesome people, they will make you feel like you are home. They are so helpful and humble.
The first day I was there Sarah and Vic cooked dinner for everybody it was delicious! The rest of the guys who live in the house also great/cool people.
The house is always clean, neat and well kept. beds and bathrooms are also clean. The house has everything you might need, a speed internet connection, printer, fax, xbox, cable and extra parking.
I highly recommend the hacker home. It's the right place to be and will definitely be visiting them again.

  • The HackerHome was fantastic. I met so many interesting people who lived there over the course of my summer stay. Something was always going on in the house and it was hard to be bored for too long. Vic often felt more like just another guest (albeit a much more accommodating one) than the owner of the house. Would recommend it to anyone who needs a place in the area.

  • I was really excited to move in to the Hacker House. Vic and the caretakers really know how to make you feel at home. I met a ton of smart people, had some interesting conversations, and am even going to develop an app with some of the people I met. I would highly recommend staying at the Hacker House. It will be the great experience you are hoping for.

    July 2013
  • The HackerHome was a great experience overall. It was clean, with spacious common areas, and the kitchen was always well stocked with snacks. I never met Vic in person, but even though he wasn't even in the country he still did everything he could to make sure I was comfortable. The hosts I did meet who lived in the house were equally as attentive. Definitely 5 stars! I'm only sorry I couldn't stay longer.
