★ Plenty of grocery options, restaurants & antique stores within 10 minutes

★ On owner-occupied property near Lafayette

The space
In 2021, we began listing the Folk Art Tower, but our guests over the years have given us over 300 Five Star reviews for their experiences. Way down yonder, here in South Louisiana, we are called "da Superhosts".

★ It’s the basics - sleep, toilet and a shower, and a place to make food. WAIT! It's a LOT MORE than the basics. It's our funky palace dedicated to Folk Art. And, did you know? Yes, you can LIVE INSIDE FOLK ART.

And for those groups larger than a couple, regarding our single beds in the bedrooms, they are deluxe comfy camping beds that we can pull out - with pads, clean linens, blankets and pillows. It's “glamping” inside a large piece of folk art.

We will let our guests help tell the rest of our story,

"This spot is the epitome of the Airbnb experience for me. If you are suspicious because the price seems too low for the size and amenities, don’t be, because it is even more fabulous live than it looks online. The hosts seem more concerned that you have a relaxing time in a special space than they are about pricing. They also offer European pricing so you pay a bit more per person but if you’re a single, you pay the lowest rate. This is thoughtful for the solo traveler. We stayed in two of the (currently) three lodging options. We loved both. With the cabin, you have very large bedrooms on either side of a common area, so if you are two couples, you may want to choose that one for more sleeping privacy. With the tower the bedrooms are smaller and adjacent but you have an absolutely massive common area. All spaces are filled with art, a lot of it local, and interesting objects to look at. The spaces are both playful, with unique light switches and hidden lighting options. They could almost write a guidebook to the lodging features itself but that may take away some of the fun of discovering it on your own. The hosts themselves are very engaging, if you want them to be, or they will give you space if that’s your desire. They responded almost immediately to any question we had. I could have happily spent the week chilling at the property, under the pecan trees or on any of our very large porches, but we followed their guidebook on various local options for kayak tours of Lake Martin (do it, absolutely incredible) and local state parks like Chicot (also incredible). This space and experience made me and my friend very happy and I felt better about the world knowing Jim and Christy are in it. Highly recommend. Would love to return again."

"Jim and Christy are absolute gems. As hosts, they do everything you can ask for and more - they provide you with the true South Louisiana experience. Regardless of where you're staying, you're in for a treat."

"Truly why we love airbnb. Locals who show their lives and make you a part of it. One of those never to forget travel experiences. Definitely go and get a deep dive Louisiana experience!"

"We like to think Airbnb was created for these kind of accommodations. The location is wonderful but the best part is the hosts. Jim and Christy are amazing people who provide their wary travelers with everything they could hope for. We can advise you this: Go! You will forever remember the experience!"

The Folk Tower is located on our primary residential property, and sits on 5 acres with a grand farm house built in the late 1800's by one of two brothers who founded a local hospital. It was originally over 200 acres of agricultural land. The house was separated on 5 acres and the agricultural property was sold - but the 200 acres of agricultural land is still part of a working farm with vegetable production and cattle. All the original farm land surrounds the 5 acres, protecting the rural atmosphere. The Folk Art Tower is set way back off the small country highway, so it is very quiet. We live in an area that is highly populated by artists and we love having many artists as neighbors.

A Tesla Destination Charger, the first Electric vehicle charging station in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana is only 18 miles away at 501 Old Spanish Trail, Scott, LA.

Hi, what can we say about ourselves? We are folk artists and educators who think big - and think big about fun. We are creating a sustainable cultural/educational compound, where all sorts of meaningful and fun events take place. During Covid, we are working hard to maintain safe, independent, socially isolated and private places for folks to get away, relax, get recharged - or work - all with peace of mind. We are committed to Airbnb’s new cleaning and sanitizing protocols.

Read our reviews to find out what kind of experiences our guests find once they book with us. Welcome.
