About this listing
Salvador has always been a fun and exciting place to visit and explore. The city center: from the historic center (Pelorinho) to Barra Beach is alive with activity for visitors and my neighborhood is in the heart of it all.

Colorful and rustic house in a historic street of the center of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil overlooking All Saints Bay, the Marina and the Museum of Modern Art.
I love Salvador especially its African influenced culture.
Colorful room with a double bed & ceiling fan (no air conditioner)
A home in which your privacy & security will be respected and maintained
Upstairs part of house. One flight of stairs.
No kitchen use but that is great news because it gives you the opportunity to taste all the local culinary treats. The even better news is that this is all in walking distance (up the hill): bakeries, shops, inexpensive restaurants, farmers markets. The best restaurants in Salvador are also very close in the Bahia Marina.
The house is also walking distance to Pelorinho (historic center night life and restaurants), theaters, movies, museums, commercial center, laundry facilities and shopping malls. Barra beach is a 15 minute bus ride.
Centrally located so taxis and/or buses to various parts of the city are available.
Salvador is a fun place to discover. I encourage exploring the happenings outside the typical tourist locations (of course go to those as well). Beach; cultural activites; night life; dance, drumming and capoeira classes in the vicinity.
My house is warm, colorful and welcoming but probably what makes my place unique is that I am a cross cultural consultant, African derived cultural and development specialist, human rights and environmental activist and language facilitator therefore I can give you tips on what is happenings in Salvador. I can design specialty tours tailored to your needs (for a fee).
You are searching on airbnb.com so you are more likely to be a traveler than a tourist and wanting a real sense, engagement and exploration of the city and nearby regions. The room in my house is a great place to replenish your energies after exploring and enjoying Salvador

We stayed at Alicia's over Carnaval what was a great experience; not only the carnaval itself, also Alicia's hospitality; she really knows her way around and "fed" us not only with great insider tips (restaurants, good places for breakfast, beaches and events) as well as the best "good-morning-coffee"; it was a overall great experience and I would definitely come back to hers!
Thank you so much Alicia for hosting me at your place, entertaining me and introduce your city to me in such a kind and smart way. I felt so comfortable and had a great time together with you and your friends. You are my sister now
Staying at Alicia's was so much more than just a place for the night! She showed us around Pelourinho, took us to watch the World Cup the Brazilian way, prepared the most delicious caipirinhas and mango lassis and gave us all the tips about Salvador we could have hoped for (Alicia speaks perfect English). Good location, beautiful apartment.
I can only speak praise of our stay with Alicia. We found it very hard to enjoy other airbnb places as we had this excellent experience to compare too. Alicia took us out with her friends, took us around salvador & cooked some awesome meals for us too.... She is a free spirit & extremely helpful. Her apartment is clean and in an excellent location. it also had a great vibrant look.
Thanks Alicia for the wonderful trip. We had a lot of fun and miss you terribly.
