Medi was a great host! He made my sister and I feel extremely welcomed and accurately described the apartment. Amazing find! Thank you.
I really liked Medi's place. Really clean, modern building, and beautiful sunrises each morning. And the neighborhood was a charming part of Philadelphia. Really dug it - thanks again, Medi!
Medi has a beautiful apartment in a very cool part of Philly, steps from all the museums. We had a wonderful time staying here and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a place in Philly.
We drove up from Baltimore to visit the Barnes Foundation and other notable Philly museums. I picked the location for proximity to these and Medi's place was perfect. Two blocks to the Barnes, the Rodin, etc. Plenty of take out, eat in, grocery shopping, etc in the immediate vicinity. Medi was very responsive and accommodating. The apartment in on the 17th floor and has great views. Philly's a big city, so probably best to leave your car at home. :-)
Gracious care by Medi. He was always responsive. I even asked him if he had a hairdryer before the trip. He said no, bring your own, and lo and behold, there was a hair dryer there. The apartment was very comfortable. Everything worked. The neighborhood was upscale and appeared very safe. I truly enjoyed my stay and would recommend Medi as a host any time.
Good: Medi was very patient with me when making the reservation. I had many very specific questions, and he didn't get tired of me asking so many. He was also easy to reach when needed. The unit is in an incredibly convenient place . We were easily able to accommodate the restricted on-street parking situations (free 8p-8a, feed the meter after 8am) There is also a garage across the street (expensive) and a surface lot 2 blocks over (less expensive). Didn't have to use either. The unit was VERY quiet! We were there 4 nights and the only outdoor noise that would be considered disruptive was some bucket boys one night (only played a short time around 11pm), a neighbor dog barking after 8am one day, and one night there were sirens going by a few blocks over. Noise issue out of Medi's control: major construction project next door, heavy equipment started at 7am weekdays. There is a small Rite Aid across the street, as well as a WaWa convenience store that had extremely good coffee, no need to go to the Starbucks a short two blocks over. We did not need to visit the Whole Foods on the next block. We felt very safe there, and there is a police station across the street.
Not so good: Upon arriving our shoes were sticking to the hardwood floor in some places. In other places we were sliding due to some sort of oil on the floor (almost fell a couple times). Husband spent a good half hour trying to clean it up with paper towels (no mop seen). The bed had a bottom sheet, no top sheet. Texted Medi who said he could try to get more linens. We decided to borrow linens from the people we were in town visiting, so declined Medi's offer. The bedroom has light-filtering (not darkening) shades, so the room was not dark dark at night (wouldn't bother people who don't need blackout to sleep). The bathtub had a wet, nonstick mat on the bottom, looked mildewed. We removed it as we didn't want to step on it, there were globs of hair underneath. We bought Lysol wipes to clean the tub. There were plenty of towels, they smelled musty. The bedroom closet was locked. The hall closet was full of various unorganized items, so we felt perhaps this closet was also not meant to be used. There was no dresser, so we lived out of our suitcases.
All in all, we would probably stay there again.
