Room in the hip Reykjavik harbor

If you want to have a unique experience when visiting Reykjavik this is the place to stay.

I am offering a cosy guest room in my beautiful flat located in the downtown harbor village in Reykjavik. The neighborhood is the best as we are both very close to the city centre and in the new hip harbor village, where the old fisherman sheds have been converted to cafés, restaurants and galleries. But it is still quiet and friendly.

THE GUEST ROOM has a sofa bed for 1 or 2 guests and free wifi. You will also have access to the whole apartment with kitchen, living room, bathroom etc. In the kitchen there is a dishwasher and washing machine if you want to do laundry.

ABOUT ME
I am a photographer, I like nature, fashion, colors, music, people from around the world and coffee ;) I enjoy the outdoors and travelling. My main attraction though is that I make amazing coffee! (included ;)).

I ALSO HAVE A DOG! She is a very lovable friendly pure bread Icelandic sheepdog :)

LOCATION is the best. It is only a 5 minute walk from the main square in town. Just hop out and onto one of the whale watching boats or stroll to a cafe. There's a bus stop by my road and also plenty of free parking (if you rent a car). If you are hungry either try the local Icelandic fish n chips restaurant, the world´s best lobster soup according to the New York Times or go to the hip new restaurant Forréttabarinn. All around the corner from my apartment.

  • Top Location, Top House, Top Host! Thank you for the nice beginning of our iceland trip!

  • This stay was adequate for our needs. The bd was quite comfortable but took up the majority of the room so was very tight moving around with two people . It was our first Air BnB so didn't have any thing to compare it to. Fortunately Reykjavik is small and we're comfortable finding our own way around as we seem to have some difficulty getting direction from our host. This was likely related to language. Although he spoke English quite well we're not sure if he always understood us when we were asking questions.

  • Staying with Michael was great. He was very responsive and let us drop off our bags early so that we could explore the city. The room was almost entirely occupied by the bed, but was very comfortable and perfect for our needs. The location is FANTASTIC - right near The Sea Baron and other great restaurants, as well as a Bonus supermarket where we picked up food for breakfast and snacks. Easy to walk into town and to nearly any of the city landmarks and museums.

  • We stayed for one night, as we had a 30-hour stopover in Reykjavik on our way from the States to Europe. We appreciated Michael's hospitality, communication, and flexibility with us. We ended up arriving a few hours later than expected, but it was no problem communicating with Michael and he was able to meet up upon our arrival. We stayed in a small, but more than adequate room for sleep, and a fantastic location with convenient parking right outside the apartment. Definitely a great value!

  • Michael was a very accommodating host. He let us check in early, and waited for us to arrive even when our flight was 2 hours late. Really great location! The room was a bit small for 2 people, it was good enough for what we needed.

  • Great location (close by the harbour), nice clean flat and Michael is a super friendly host who gives you directly information about the flat and great food advice in the area. The room is small but cosy and the bed comfy. We def recommend Michael's place.

  • Michael was great to stay with--super accommodating and helpful (our flight arrived earlier than I thought it would). The room is, as others have mentioned, quite small, but the bed is SO comfy it completely makes up for it. The location is awesome; it's about a 5 minute walk from the main street, and it's surrounded by restaurants (there's a great burger joint about a 1-2 min walk away). My only regret is not talking more with Michael! My friend and I only had a chance to chat with him on the last day, and he has a really interesting story to tell. I would definitely recommend staying with Michael if you're planning on stopping by Reykjavik.

  • Awesome place in Reykjavik. Cosy flat right in the city centre. Nice host. We had a great night there. Thanks Michael!

  • Got to Hotel Marina (where airport bus dropped us off) and it's a quick walk from there.

Small room but could use the rest of the apartment, so it worked out just fine. Plentiful, very hot water, and good restaurants within walking distance.

Host gave us good information and we ended up eating at an awesome fish restaurant.

  • We very much enjoyed staying with Michael and his adorable dog, Rósa. Michael has a great house in a great neighborhood, and we really appreciated his local knowledge. Thanks again, Michael, and we hope to return in the summer sometime!
