It was a last minute reservation because another host had a family emergency. Celemente was incredibly helpful, quick to respond and the apartment was ready in less than a day.
It is a great space for my in-laws who wanted to stay close by our apartment. It was clean, spacious and very safe. It's only a few minutes from the main shopping areas and subways. The only thing to note is that the building is old and the kitchen wiring is too so you won't be cooking Thanksgiving on the hot plate but it's perfect for coffee.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Angel was a great host, and his place had everything we need to have a comfortable and safe stay in NY. The neighborhood is very calm but still with a lot of stores around (Starbucks at the first corner), and right next to the A train. Good place to stay in Manhatan.

Although we were in the other room, my friends and I had a fantastic time staying at Angel's apartment. This was our first Airbnb experience, and I am so glad we booked his place for the three of us. We there from the 29th of December to the 3rd, celebrating New Year's. Angel was an awesome host. He didn't stay there, but he waited for us with the keys and gave us nice suggestions on where to eat, etc. The apartment was clean, and Angel was friendly and gracious, providing fresh linens and towels, as well as an air mattress upon arrival since we had an extra person. The place is cozy, charming and colorful, but probably not suitable for families with children. For us it was a home away from home though. With the heater, it got pretty warm in the room when closed, but I appreciated this because it was snowing outside. Also, this in is Washington Heights, but the neighborhood was pretty quiet while we were there --not a lot of activity or traffic going on --at least by our standards. There are these stairs that isolate this residential area from the main street. My friends and I felt safe walking home from the Subway after midnight (the A train is conveniently located only a block or so away). I also like how there were some places to eat, convenience stores, and a Russian food place, as well as donuts and pizza if you're hungry and broke after spending too much money on Broadway tickets. Although there are food options in the area, we cooked many meals in the kitchen. Just a heads up; if you want pizza delivery after 2am, you will have an impossible time, but a nearby Dominican place does deliver mofongo at practically any hour! ;D
Last thing; If you're like us and your time schedule got messed up (we're from the west coast), just be aware that the walls are thin and neighbors/roommate(s) can hear you. This is an older building (and there are many older people who actually like to sleep regular hours).
If I come back to this area of NYC again, I would definitely stay again. Why would you want to stay at an overpriced motel when the accommodations here are far more comfortable?
