Interaction with Guests
I live in San Telmo, dance in San Telmo, work in the neighborhood too!
You will see me around!
You have to know that TANGO IS MY PASSION: come and share it with me.
(If you become adictive, is not my fault .. JAJAJA)
You have to know that San Telmo is the oldest neighborhood of Buenos Aires. It is a well-preserved area and is characterized by its colonial buildings. Cafes, tango parlors and antique shops line the cobblestone streets, which are often filled with artists and dancers.
San Telmo's attractions include old churches (e.g. San Pedro Telmo), museums, antique stores and a semi-permanent antique fair (Feria de Antigüedades) in the main public square, Plaza Dorrego. Tango-related activities for both locals and tourists are in the area.
The apartment is very close to several public transportation and within a walking distance to many to many touristic attractions like Casa Rosada, Avenida de Mayo, Puerto Madero or the nearby parks!
Rent an old colonial house and immerse yourself into a real Buenos Aires Experience!
The urban bus is commonly known as 'Colectivos' or sometimes 'Bondis' in slang. The service is very frequent -you will rarely have to wait more than five minutes during the day. The bus system is a service with 'stops' (a place where passengers are waiting to take a bus) spread on the streets with a distance 400 meters among each one of them. Before you even think of boarding a bus, you will need to make sure you have coins ('Monedas') for your journey. Banknotes are not accepted. Introducing coins into the machine, you get a ticket to travel. There is a prepaid card named SUBE, that works with every city bus or metro. If you are visiting Buenos Aires for a week or more, you should definitely purchase a Guia T. For sale at most news stands and often on the subway, the Guia T is a little pocket-sized book providing detailed maps of city streets and outlines how to get around by bus.
The 'Subte' (as it's called in BUENOS AIRES) or Metro, is the faster and more frequent (every 5 minutes), though it can be very crowded during morning and evening peak hours. The service runs from 5am to 10pm (8am to 10pm on Sundays). The ticket is electro-magnetic and it's dispensed in the same station. Large parts of the city are not served by the network, including some important tourist areas such as Recoleta and Palermo Viejo.
Taxis in Buenos Aires are reasonable priced and plentiful (except in rainy rush hours). Taxis are easy to identify because they are painted yellow and black (roof), and they are circulating in thousands through BUENOS AIRES. To take a taxi can be done from anywhere in the city, making signs to the driver or the Radio Taxi ( To request a taxi by phone ), it's the safer service to travel on taxi . Currently are circulating over 40,000 taxis by BUENOS AIRES
Other Things to Note
If you want authentic atmosphere rather than an antiseptic hotel then this is what we offer.
Tenants should conduct themselves in a manner that doesn’t unreasonably disturb other tenants or neighbors.
Parties in the apartment are strictly forbidden, since they that produce noise that disturb others in the building.
The trash needs to be disposed daily. You will find a trash on the street. Garbage should be wrapped securely, preferably in plastic bags, before placing it in the garbage cans.

Muy cerca de la plaza Dorego, el centro de San Telmo, un barrio típico de Buenos Aires, muy agradable...
Absolute fabulous appartement and small garden! And the most hospitable hostess you can imagine. This beautiful place has a very special ambiance. The appartement was perfect for a family whith two children. But for very small children is it not safe whith the railing to the loft.
Plus for the very nice service with good communication and the possability to leave our luggage in the office.
Even though the house was smaller than we imagined, it is a nice play to stay and couldn't be better located in San Telmo. The swimming pool is really pleasant for hot days. Mercedes welcomed us and sent us lots of advices about the area. I only regret that the checkout time wasn't flexible at all (10 am) and that the kitchen equipment was really basic.
Nicolas Goyer
Mercedes was a great host. The place has character and it was clean and very welcoming. This would be my dream property. I loved this place so much that I ended up booking it again for the last night. It also happens to be located in a really great neighbourhood with a friendly caffe a few steps away and a great milonga place just a few blogs away. If you go to BA, you have to stay at this place.
The charming appartment is very well located in a great area and you will find everything you need nearby. Mercedes and her employees were all the time very kind and easy to communicate with. On the whole I had a wonderful stay and I can definitly recommend the place.

My name is Mercedes. I was born in Buenos Aires, where we attends daily to Milongas, a connoisseur of this city, "the capital of tango". I have 8 properties I rent and I manage an agency that rents apartments exclusively in San Telmo, Buenos Aires. As an architect, I am involved in preservation of heritage.
