The Space

In the 'Bloemenbuurt', neighborhood, of Amsterdam a very comfortable family home of 100 m2 with all modern conveniences.
Amsterdam North is an upcoming area, with pop up stores and art projects.

High ceilings in the living room, very bright and quiet.
Fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, Wifi access, Hifi, shower and bath.
One attic room with a double bed, two other (kids) bedrooms with two beds.

The area is nice and quiet with a full range bakery on the corner for fresh croissants and bread. There is a big park 3 minutes walk, with a wooden playground and a good coffee bar. And a good supermarket 5 mins walking and an open market on wednesday, friday and saturday.

The house is near the newly openend EYE film museum, which has become a must see, and place to have coffee looking over the water, and is surrounded by the Tolhuistuin cafe and the Temporary Art Museum

Well served by buses, Line 34 and 35 which take you to central station in 5 minutes, they come every 5 minutes too. From there you can go anywhere such as the Dam, the Jordaan shopping area, the museum area via tram 2 or 5 which takes 10 minutes from central station.

We have a garden at the front and back and out the front there is a children's play area with slide. The house is open and warm, with the garden on the southside of the house you can have pleasant apperatives before dinner.

We give deals to Irish people or people from other economies hit by the euro crisis such as Greece and Spain

  • We had a great 3.5 days at Emer's place. It was very cozy and beautifully furnished, there was a number of beds available and all five of us easily slept in comfort!
The location of the house is rather nice and quite, but it's also a bus ride away from the center. The stop is also very close to the house!
Although we haven't met Emer in person, she was always available and the notes she left behind were very helpful.
    Thank you Emer!

  • My friends (2 couples, 1 single) and I really enjoyed staying in Emer's family home for the extended weekend. The backyard was nice for sunny evening dinners. Amsterdam is just a short ride on the bus, and is also close if you hire a bike.

  • I and my friends(5 people all together) had a good four days in Holland.
It's absolutely cozy and lovely place. Big and comfortable apartment with all needs. It's placed in quiet area of Amsterdam. I'm totally recommending that apartment and hope to visit it again.

  • A stone's throw away from the city centre(about 10minutes by bus(rather frequent) , it is the perfect distance between the bustle of the city and the quiet suburbs.

The house was extremely well equipped, and the eclectic mix of rustic wood panelled floors and children's paraphernalia lend a modern but homely atmosphere to the house. The house is spacious, and more than comfortable for our 5 person group, and the copious amount of day lighting were a warm welcome during the slightly chilly mornings.

Although we didn't get the chance to meet emer, she left comprehensive notes on different appliances which really helped a lot. A great host and a great home. I would recommend this to anyone coming to Amsterdam.

Hi, I'm from Dublin, Ireland and my husband is from Utrecht. We're a family of four, we have two daughters. We work in digital cultural and social entrepreneurship and the house represents our interests to some extent. As in a lot of the furniture is self built. And there's loads of cool books to read. We have lived in our house for four years and are really happy with it. Send me a message if you're interested in visiting Amsterdam All the best, Emer
