If you are a curious person, interested in the cultural understanding of the places you visit, this is the right home for you. It’s in the historic centre of the village, at a walking distance from shops, bars and restaurants and you can feel, for a short time at least, that you are a part of a little community.
Midway between Rome and Florence, 30km from Perugia and 14 km from Tuscany, Panicale is a medieval village, dating back to approximately 1000 AD, on the top of a hill at about 450m above sea level.
From this vantage point, the view of the surrounding countryside is breathtaking: Trasimeno Lake and its valley on one side and the hills on the other side.
Even if so small (500 people live there) it includes some important artistic beauties (a fresco by Perugino) and hosts some important festivals and events . In the summer months, free concerts are held within the city walls inside churches and outside on the different squares. They include jazz, classical and medieval music concerts. Mid September: a colourful Grape Festival takes place in the narrow streets of the village.
There are direct flights from London to Perugia. Panicale is 35 km away from Perugia.
