The Space

One bedroom, one bathroom and living/dining area with separate entrance. Modern furniture. Memory foam topped bed with a cool Portland duvet. The West Elm couch in the living room is actually a twin daybed so there's room for a third guest or child.

Fully equipped kitchen with an oven, fridge, microwave, coffee grinder, french press and Stumptown coffee!

Guest Access

* Free WiFi

* A library of guidebooks, Oregon history books, hiking books, maps, etc.

* The backyard is available to use. There's a picnic table and in the summer you can help yourself to the organic veggies in the garden.

Interaction with Guests

I'm happy to give personal suggestions on what to do & see in the neighborhood or anywhere in Oregon.

Getting around

The apartment is just off the Max and the #4 (and #6) bus lines. Only one transfer to the airport & a 12 min easy bike ride to downtown. Super close to the on-ramps for both the 5 and 405. Plenty of free street parking right out front.

  • Clean and cute basement apartment. I'd recommend it. It was completely hassle free experience. Great location.

  • We were super-happy with this apartment! It was an ideal spot to set out on our Portland explorations.
The apartment was exactly what we had hoped it would be based on the listing. The place was spotless, and it really is a fantastic location. Having the kitchen and living area makes a huge difference in your overall quality-of-life.
Cee was great; welcoming, helpful, and available, but otherwise left us to our own devices. Had we not been so busy with our pre-arranged comings and goings we would have definitely taken advantage of her where-to-go/what-to-do advice.
If you want to see Portland as a visitor, this is a great place to do it from. But if you want to really experience Portland and be more than a tourist, I think you can only do it if you're staying someplace like this.

  • Cee's place was perfect! It was perfectly outfitted and comfortable. Very easy check-in and out. And best of all, it's super close to Mississippi and Williams Streets, both of which have tons of restaurants and things to do. Cee was very easy to deal with. I couldn't recommend her place more!

  • This basement apartment was exactly what we needed. For us, the main attraction was location, near to friends and family, but others would find plenty of reasons to like the place. It is very clean and well maintained. All the appliances worked, the shower is great, the bed is fine. The host lives above and is quiet and not intrusive. Borthwick is a most interesting street for walking and looking into gardens. We'd definitely recommend this place to others.

  • Here is another positive review for Cee. She takes her role as host very seriously and it shows. The apartment was clean, nicely furnished, and felt like home. It was great to know that Cee was upstairs and available with any question or need, big or small. I highly recommend Cee and this apartment.

  • We loved staying in Cee's comfortable, clean, and affordable basement apartment. The apartment was a short walk from tons of great restaurants, shops, and bars on Mississippi Avenue, and there was a tasty coffee spot right across the street. Seriously, everything we wanted to see in Portland was literally right around the corner...a grocery store, a bike rental shop, a local brewery. Fortunately, Cee's place is just a few blocks off of the main streets, so it was super quiet at night (and during the day for the most part). Cee provided us with Stumptown coffee and we made breakfast a couple mornings in the well-equipped kitchen. Even on the days when the temperature outside was in the low 80's, the basement apartment remained nice and cool without AC. We also loved being able to sit at the picnic table in the back yard to have a beer late at night. I would absolutely recommend Cee's place to anyone looking to experience Portland outside of the commercial/hotel/downtown area. Thanks, Cee!

  • Cee was a great host, she had some ace recommendations for places to eat in the area and there was a mountain of information for local sights and things to do in the apartment. The apartment itself was a good size, and had everything that you could possibly need. Its in a nice neighborhood and is right next to a bus line so it is really easy to go to Downtown. There was a bit of noise in the morning from the school over the road so if you are a light sleeper you might want to bring earplugs. I Would definitely stay here again.

  • Cee is a great hands off host! The neighborhood is IDEAL, and the apartment is super clean and cozy. Definitely would recommend this spot!

  • Cee was a fantastic host. The apartment is comfortable, private and close to lots of great restaurants! An easy bike commute downtown from here.

  • Cee's house is in a quiet neighborhood just two blocks from one of the nicest restaurant/bar/shopping strips in Portland, so you get the advantage of tranquility while being close to "the action". The apartment is basically the basement of Cee's house (it has an entirely private entrance). Simple but very well appointed and impeccably clean, with everything you need. Cee and her housemates are very considerate and I heard hardly any noise from the house above at all for the four days that I was there. Communication with Cee was effortless and efficient, and I had responses to my questions prior to arriving hours (sometimes minutes!) after I had sent them. A very good airbnb experience.

I moved to Portland three years ago from Bangkok, where I was living for 5 years. I'm originally from New York/Massachusetts. I'm an avid traveler. I've spent 6 years abroad and visited over 50 countries. I speak Thai (and can cook Thai food too!) I'm a web developer and a computer geek. I have a cat that I brought back from Thailand who you may meet in the garden. He loves adventuring outside and is extremely friendly. His name is Phae Noi (little goat).
