We can not host wedding guests, sorry.
Julia and John went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were greeted at the door and ushered into their home. To mark our 5 year wedding anniversary, Julia had left a gift of a small wooden box and stone to mark the occasion which was very thoughtful. The room was spacious and bright with a big and very comfy double bed. There were extra blankets left for us if we needed them. There was tea/coffee making facilities in the room, fruit and chocolate left for us and beautiful flowers from the garden. The bathroom was spotless and spacious and right beside the bedroom. Both Julia and John were happy to chat with us, whether over breakfast, tea or over a glass of wine in front of the cosy stove and they were both interesting to talk to. Breakfast was simple but very tasty and every thing that we could ask for was provided, tea, coffee, yoghurt, cereals, bread etc. Bruno the dog was as delightful as the other reviews suggested, a lovely friendly dog.
John and Julia are so sweet, sending us messages before we arrived just in case we couldnt find their place. They have such a big house and the bedroom is very spacious and clean. We spent a wonderful night with John. He is a very generous and considerate host and I enjoyed so much his humorous talks and his music. And we enjoyed so much the companion of their dog Bruno. Their place is very easy to find and transportation is very convenient. If we come back to Donegal, I would definitely stay at their place again! :-)
Hope one day John and Julia could make a trip to China as well!
I had such a wonderful stay with John and Julia in Donegal Town. The room is great and spacious and the bed is super comfortable. John and Julia made me feel so welcome, and we had some great chats over yummy dinners that we prepared together. The experience that I had with John and Julia is what airbnb is all about - meeting interesting people with local knowledge who can truly enrich your travel experience, all the while making you feel at home. Thanks heaps John and Julia!
I spent a very good night at Julia, Johan and Bruno. the room is very large and the bed also. I was very well received and Julia (who speaks some French for interested) able to advise me a good restaurant to eat a fish & chips. I had breakfast with Julia and I had everything I wanted. the only criticism I have to make is the lack of hot water that I have not had the morning to prepare myself, but otherwise everything was perfect!
Julia and John were two of the best hosts I've ever had. I would not have been able to see as much of beautiful land without them. They took me for rides to the coast/beaches and to the mountains and along trails. They're very generous with their food as well, offering me lovely breakfasts and dinners while I was there. I'm very, very grateful for their kindness and willingness to show me the Irish countryside!
The stay with Julia and John was really nice. We were talking a lot and Bruno (=dog, who is also very nice) was surrounding us.
Our room was very nicely done up and they brought us a hot water bottle and an extra heater. They bought us for the breakfast a bread (only for us), which was very nice.
We enjoyed the stay and the location is very good.
Had a wonderful time staying with Julia and John. They are some of the warmest and kindest people I've come across through Airbnb. Along with meeting me at the bus stop, we cooked together each night, and they were very helpful in recommending walks around the area. Their dogs and cats are wonderful as well. This is a rustic home close to town, and the room is very clean and comfortable. A great place to stay when exploring Donegal town and the surrounding area. Thank you both!
