The stay with Julia and John was really nice. We were talking a lot and Bruno (=dog, who is also very nice) was surrounding us.
Our room was very nicely done up and they brought us a hot water bottle and an extra heater. They bought us for the breakfast a bread (only for us), which was very nice.
We enjoyed the stay and the location is very good.
Had a wonderful time staying with Julia and John. They are some of the warmest and kindest people I've come across through Airbnb. Along with meeting me at the bus stop, we cooked together each night, and they were very helpful in recommending walks around the area. Their dogs and cats are wonderful as well. This is a rustic home close to town, and the room is very clean and comfortable. A great place to stay when exploring Donegal town and the surrounding area. Thank you both!
I had a very warm welcome in Julia and John's home. This a real home, open to people, where you can share a meal (thank you so much John, the pasta was very much needed!), hear some songs, roast in front of the stove, cuddle dog and cats and enjoy some interesting talks and chats.
The room and bathroom were spotless clean, I enjoyed the small welcoming touches left here and there: fresh flowers, fresh fruits, chocolate, a coffee/tea tray, new soaps and toothbrush.
The house is a couple of minutes walk from the castle and the centre. John or Julia will come and pick you up at the bus stop.
Definitely a place to stay if you feel homesick! And don't be afraid of John's dry Irish humour: it took me a couple of hours to understand it and then enjoyed it immensely!!
Julia and her husband are wonderful hosts! We were greeted at the bus stop and given some good suggestions for things to do and food to eat in town, which was helpful (particularly given that we visited during the off season). Best of all, we were treated to some nice "family time" in the evening - meal sharing, chatting, watching some television, and playing with Bruno!
The location is ideal. Donegal is a small town, and the house is just across the bridge and down the street from the main area of town.
The room itself is great - it's almost a little apartment connected to the house. There's a HUGE room that connects to a bathroom and shower room down a short hallway. After traveling for a while, it was nice to stretch out a bit!
Julia & John were truly fantastic hosts and they made me feel at home straight away. They even helped me to set up/coordinate some activities in the area. The room was HUGE and clean and the bed incredibly comfortable. The inviting stove in the evenings and Bruno (the dog) were bonuses and helped make the Donegal experience unforgettable! I would definitely stay here again.
Julia and her husband were so great! We got in late so they waited up for us. They gave great, easy directions to their home and they were just so delightful! We loved staying there for the night! We had a huge room and they were so caring to make sure we were warm enough and everything was okay. We had breakfast in the morning as well! Our stay was so Great! We would refer everyone to stay with them!
The bed was just as comfy as advertised! a really down to earth couple that was great to converse with in front of the wood stove and the guitar playing and singing was a bonus! This is an authentic old Irish house with lots of character and a few quirks. good clean accommodations and fantastic company!
