My husband and I had some last minute travel adjustments and Julia and John got back to us quickly so we had a place to stay. We got in pretty late and headed into town for dinner. They (email hidden) nearby. In the Morning they made us some great breakfast and we had some nice conversations before hitting the road again. Very friendly people.
Julia and John were both very welcoming, they offered us tea at arrival and a great breakfast in the morning
They gave us many useful tips to bisit he Donegal region
The room was big and confortable, we had a private bathroom
The dog of the house is very nice, funny and quiet
Thanks so much for a lovely stay. I enjoyed the visit, the house, and exploring Donegal. It was great to meet you both, and have the opportunity to chat. It really set a good tone for the rest of my stay in lreland.
My boyfriend and I were only in Donegal for one night, and were very pleased with our stay here. Julia spent time chatting with us when we arrived, offering suggestions for the neighborhood. We had a fun evening (email hidden) watching the World Cup and listening to a local storyteller, followed by great late-night conversation with John and another guest at the house. As opposed to a more expensive B-and-B, staying here felt like being guests in a local home, offering a more authentic experience.
Staying with Julia and John was, without a doubt, a major highlight of our trip so far. We were immediately welcomed with a cup of tea and excellent conversation. Exactly what we needed to settle in. Great recommendations for sites to see around Donegal. The room was comfortable and clean, and I particularly enjoyed getting to hear about the history of the house, as well as getting to cuddle with Bruno the dog by the fireplace :)
Many thanks for your kind hosting. It was just what I needed - advice on what to do in Donegal, a big restful room with a super comfortable bed and, of course, lovely Bruno the dog pretending to still be a puppy. I hope your plans for rescuing the house come off. It is a very charming place.
We had a nice stay with Julia and John. As previous guests have stated, the room was very large. It was a little chilly our first night so we were given a space heater for our second night, which did the trick. We loved the fire in the main lounge area. J & J were very accommodating and made great suggestions of where to go. There was a problem with the water, which was cut off one morning. They are working on getting this fixed. We enjoyed our late night chats with John, and we did get a few tunes on the guitar. We also had some nice breakfast conversations.
We had such a lovely time with Julia and John. They're place is lovely and very close to town. Great food and pub recommendations and wonderful company. Thanks so much to both of you. Sarah, Mel and bec. Give Bruno a big hug from us!
Still dreaming of the bread, delicious coffee and cosy bed. Julia and John were very friendly and welcoming, we enjoyed our evening chatting over tea and fireplace. And playing with Bruno. The house has lots of character and quirks. We'll be back!
