The Space

Fantastic OVER the water vacation spot. Not just waterfront, but OVER the water in downtown Kirkland, a very popular lakefront community. My condo is 2bdrm, 2 full baths, 1,250 Sq. ft, so you get your own bedroom and full bathroom.

Wonderful 17 ft. patio/deck w/ lounge chairs. Incredible 270 degree unobstructed waterfront/marina/city views from my corner end-unit condo, 2 blocks from the Kirkland Marina, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, shops, with waterfront parks– one on each side of my building. Quiet and surrounded by wildlife- soaring eagles and jumping fish. Heated swimming pool in summer. Walk for miles along the waterfront to your heart's content. Right in downtown Kirkland- only 2 miles from downtown Bellevue and 7 miles from downtown Seattle.

You will have access to the guest bedroom (shown in photo) and separate full bathroom with tub, shared use of the kitchen, living room and common living areas while I'm here. The bed is new and very comfortable. Also a full comfortable couch in your bedroom. I occasionally travel and may make my home available privately, with use one bedroom, at $225/night when I'm not in town.

Interaction with Guests

I have met and enjoyed living-room conversations with most of my guests, who come from a variety of backgrounds and professions.

The Neighborhood

Restaurants, Bars, Nightlife, Cafe's, coffee shops, Marina– all just a few blocks away.

Other Things to Note

"A picture is worth a thousand words", but as noted in my reviews, staying here– feeling it, is worth 10,000.

  • Chris is a wonderful host and our stay was fantastic. The view is amazing, walking distance to downtown Kirkland, and beautiful neighborhood. I would highly recommend a stay here.

  • We had a most enjoyable time, everything was actually better than we imagined, the location is amazing, and parking was easy considering it was in the city, Chris was fun, worked with us on our schedule, treated us like we were special..totally opened up his home to us, and we can't wait to stay again. The location is perfect, close to an incredible walking and biking trail, on the water, I mean really, ON the water, we didn't need curtains in our bedroom as it was that private. This is the only place we will stay in the city, convenient and enchanting, as was our host.

  • The view here is amazing! The location is convenient and I enjoyed walking the few blocks to Kirkland to enjoy the coffee shops and restaurants. Chris made me feel very at home and welcome. He is enthusiastic about life and we had great conversations. The room/bed was very comfortable, and the bedroom windows look out over the water - magical! It is so much nicer than being in a hotel. I hope to stay here again when in Bellevue for business.

  • My stay here at Christopher Walker's lovely home was so enjoyable I want to come back on my next trip to the Seattle area. Not only are views stunning, but the books and art work are very interesting and the place is immaculate. Plus, Christopher is one of the most interesting and unique people I've ever met. He has an intriguing background, is highly intelligent and has some great stories and perspectives on life. If you're lucky enough to have a conversation with him on your stay, you'll see what I mean. Other perks, besides being right on Lake Washington, are the proximity to some great restaurants, parks and entertainment. I was able to go running every day while I was there, and Kirkland is one of the most pedestrian/runner friendly communities in the Pacific Northwest. This place is a gem. I would highly recommend staying here on your next visit to the Northwest. Or, if you have visitors coming, why not have them stay here instead of your place. They'll never forget it.

  • Christopher is a wonderful, sociable host with a beautiful apartment right over the water. Christ helped me feel comfortable at his place, and provided a well equipped bedroom with a wonderful view of the water and coastline.

  • Chris is a very welcoming host. Although we didn't see each other much during my stay, he made it plain that he was there to help if I needed it and that means a lot when visiting a city for the first time.

The room is great- very comfortable bed and waking up to that view over the water is a perfect way to start the day. You have your own bathroom which is big with a great shower. The view from the balcony in the living room is perfect for watching the sun going down, highly recommended! I'm so glad I chose to stay in Kirkland and not the city, Chris' apartment is great to come back to. Many thanks!

  • Chris's home was cozy and very clean. It has a charm of a real sportsman (with photos and some special rare things with autographs) and is indeed OVER the water, so you could enjoy stunning views on the lake. Chris was available for any questions and was mindful and helpful. I had everything I needed for a pleasant stay, including interesting conversations in the evening with a self-made popcorn topped by olive oil (just like I do with my good friends!) :)

I will definitely try to stay at his place again!

  • Returned to Chris's place after a short brake. He was able to accommodate my urgent need to prolong my stay for a more few days, so I could enjoy more of his hospitality.
