The location is amazing. South 7 minutes you have the beach, East 5 minutes you have the Ciutat vella parc , 5 minutes West you have the Rambla and then another 5 minutes to plaza Catalunya, and 2 minutes from the Catherdral Santa Eulalia.
Ciutat Vella ( meaning in English "Old City") is a district of Barcelona, numbered District 1. The name means "old city" in Catalan and refers to the oldest neighborhoods in the city of Barcelona, Spain. Ciutat Vella is nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the neighborhood called l'Eixample (the Extension.). It is considered as the centre of the city; the Plaça Catalunya is one of the most popular meeting points in all of Catalonia.
There are four administrative neighborhoods (some of them include former or traditional neighborhoods):
Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera:
Running down the center of the Ciutat Vella (dividing the Raval and Barri Gòtic) is the boulevard La Rambla . La Rambla stretches from Plaça Catalunya to the Mediterranean Sea and, since the 1990s, now extends out over the sea into one of Barcelona's newest centers of entertainment, Maremagnum. El Mercat de Sant Josep (more commonly known as La Boqueria) and Gran Teatre del Liceu (the Opera House) are both located here. La Rambla is among the most frequently travelled streets by pedestrians in Barcelona.
At the bottom, there is the Museu Marítim (naval museum), which chronicles the history of life on the Mediterranean, including a full-scale model of a galley.
Is the centre of the old city of Barcelona. It stretches from La Rambla to Via Laietana, and from the Mediterranean seafront to Ronda de Sant Pere.
Despite several changes undergone in the 19th and early 20th century, many of the buildings date from Medieval times, some from as far back as the Roman settlement of Barcelona. Remains of the squared Roman Wall can be seen around Tapineria and Sots-Tinent Navarro to the north, Avinguda de la Catedral and Plaça Nova to the west and Carrer de la Palla to the south. El Call, the medieval Jewish quarter, is located within this area too.
The Barri Gòtic retains a labyrinthine street plan, with many small streets opening out into squares. Most of the quarter is closed to regular traffic although open to service vehicles and taxis.
Cathedral of Santa Eulàlia
Basilica of La Mercè
Church of Santa Maria del Pi
Church of Sant Miquel
Remains of the temple of Augustus
Els Quatre Gats
More attractions on the map :)
As you get out of the building, turn right and then second right, walk for 3 minutes you get to plaza Sant Jaume where is the metro L4 JAUME I that links all the city. Also bus lines (phone number hidden) . The best thing is that the Barcelona Bus Touristic station is just 5 min from the flat. Barcelona's most popular way to get to know the city. Explore the sights, mountains and beaches of your choice at your own pace with the city's official tourist bus.

Your's truly IOANA
There are no house rules, just common sense rules like locking the door and keeping quiet down the stairs!
Had a very nice stay at Ioana's apartment. Location is very convenient and walking distance to the subway and points of interest (ie. The Picasso Museum is literally a 2min walk away). The neighborhood has many charming bars, restaurants, and stores. Overall, would recommend for a short stay in Barcelona. One tip would be to pack light if you can because it is a 5 floor walkup a tight stairway!
Esperienza positiva.
Ioana is a wonderful host. She was so welcoming and explained the apartment and the neighborhood and was quick to respond to questions during the booking process. This apartment is adorable and exactly as described in the listing. Don't be scared off by the stairs. It's also situated in a great part of the city full of shops, restaurants and bars. We only stayed for one night but would love to come back!
Merci bcp Ioana!!!
