About This Listing
Charming 2 bedroom adobe, beamed ceiling (vigas), beehive fireplace (kiva), newly remodeled kitchen. Ten minutes to Plaza, lots of parking, on major bus line to the Plaza. Internet and cable TV. Enjoy your morning coffee in the cool shade of the portal as you plan your day's adventures in beautiful Santa Fe!
This lovely 100-year-old adobe has 2 bedrooms, one bath, a huge living room, and a newly remodeled kitchen. A true oasis, the house is surrounded by gardens and is a peaceful and creative outpost for your Santa Fe visit. And we just added air conditioning for the comfort of our summer visitors.
Since the adobe house is very old, there are some irregularities. The hardwood floor is a little uneven, the hand made abobe walls are beautifully curvy. There is a full kitchen with a brand new dishwasher, a washer and dryer, and a shady spacious porch with a porch swing to catch the summer breeze.
My sister and I took a trip to Santa Fe and stayed at Casa Alegria, about a 10 minute drive from the Plaza. The casita is warm and charming as is it's hostess Lorene. She made us feel very welcomed and was very attentive and helpful. The house comes with everything you need to be comfortable. It looks even prettier than the photos. There are beautiful plantings all around the house with several places to sit and relax or listen to the birds. There is fencing all around, making it feel very private and cozy. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful and I hope to stay there again on my next trip!
This host was the best we ever had at airbnb... Such a great unique house- we enjoyed it a lot!! We have used 2 bedrooms with beautiful warm blankets, we always stayed so cozy warm in the house which was great !!Lorene was so helpful in any case - especially for my friend which was sick at this time... Thank you very much for everything!! We can recommend it for everybody!!!
We were warmly welcomed were shown little details about the house. The house was perfectly described, plus the flowers were in full bloom to make it more lovely.
The neighborhood was on the outskirts of town, but still only 10 minutes to where my seminar was being held. It was perfect. Quiet at night which is a must for me.
Lorene is simply the best! She greets you warmly and gives you the tour, and then leaves you alone (in a good way). However, she is always easy to reach and always answers her phone! The 100 year-old Adobe is cozy and cute. Fantastic bed. Plenty of heat for a cold night. Fully stocked kitchen. Nice fenced-in yard for a small child or pet to play in. Thanks Lorene!
Lorene was one of the most welcoming and accommodating hosts that I've ever experience! Before I arrived she was helpful in letting me know how to find the property and when my flight was delayed several hours, she waited up until 3:00 am to welcome me and show me the house.
The house itself is very charming and an authentic Santa Fe experience. It felt like heaven sleeping in the bed which had a great mattress and an electric blanket. I enjoyed sitting on the bench swing in the front yard as well as sitting in the back yard and listening to the birds while soaking up the sun and fresh air.
Our stay in Lorene ' s adobe home was made all the better by her warm welcome and unique old world charm of the home itself. Lorene had loads of information about the surrounding area, and made excellent suggestions for activities, places to eat, and the history of Santa Fe. She went out of her way to make us all fit comfortably as we were a family of four including our two adult daughters. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. I look forward to seeing Loreen again & hope to return.
Lorene came right out to the road to help us find it, gave a great tour, and left us alone (in a good way!) she had many suggestions for things to do/see/eat and they were all fantastic. The casa was comfortable and inviting! The neighborhood was not what I expected at first but was quiet and comfortable.
About the Host, Lorene
I have lived in Santa Fe, fondly called "The City Different," for over 30 years. I love life in Santa Fe and New Mexico, and look forward to sharing the marvels of the Land of Enchantment with guests at Casa Alegria, the Joyful House.
