About this listing
Beautifull and confortable country house 4 kilometers away from the centre of Tavira as well as from the most beautiful beaches in the region.
Located in the countryside this house is surronded by nice trees and local vegetation (40.000 sq meters estate).
A very good place to find peace and have very good hollidays.
In this house we offer you a double bed room, a twin room, a full bathroom, a kitchen, a living room and an outdoor porch where you can have your meals under the shade and overlooking the beautiful countryside all around.
Along some of the most beautifull beaches of Portugal, here you will also find a beautiful countrysite, very good food (grilled fish is something you must ask for), as well as animation if that is what you are looking for, tranquility, or both.
This will be an experience you will enjoy for sure!
30 kilometers from Faro's airport and 30 kilometers from the Spanish border if you are driving.
Looking forward to welcoming you in Quinta do Fojo.
We don't have any strict entry o exit times or rules! Just have a pleasant time and let us know what time your are arriving.
Very pleasant experience at Diogo's lovely country house. Totally recommend it to anyone looking for some serious resting holiday.
Great view. Diogo and his wife are very nice. We spent a week in weather alarm 37+ degrees and missed an airco. The pool with the house was not ready and we could use the pool at the house on the hill, even when Diogo and his wife were there also
We made contact with Diogo without any problems and met him at the house which we also found without any problems. The site near the (non-through-) road and the vibrant colours made it easy to pick out. Diogo speaks excellent English, so the few initial problems we had were quickly resolved. The house is suitable for 4 and the bed we used was very comfortable. The bathroom and it's equipment were in keeping with a rural cottage, so don't expect German plumbing! This is a lovely setting and the kind of house I would want to buy in Portugal if it became possible, with several acres of wilderness containing carob, orange, lemon and fig trees as well as giant aloes.
The tank we did not use as it hadn't been cleaned, but were offered the use of the swimming pool at the villa at the top end of the acreage. As the sea was so close, we didn't use it.
The kitchen had a new top and was equipped with the necessary, but only just... If you like cooking, you might prefer to add to the collection as we did with Diogo's approval.
The living-room is very pleasant with french-windows onto the terrace and a very useful folding-table (could do with a little perking-up) and the "bed" there made a very comfortable seat. The "historic" chairs however were unusable for us, being so low and not really suited to the table.
All in all a very pleasant (simple) house and one we would be happy to return to.
There is one draw-back that must be mentioned: They are building an industrial zone on the back of the opposite hill, which did disturb. I imagine when they have finished building on the crest, things will be peaceful again.
Diogo ha sido muy amable, en su recibimiento y en su trato y atención. Nos ofreció una cuna para nuestro bebé, además de ofrecernos su propia piscina. Nuestra estancia ha sido muy agradable y la casa es fantástica. Gracias Diogo.
We really loved staying in this house. It was a real back-to-nature experience surrounded by fruit trees and birds, very peaceful with an amazing smell of pine and herbs. The house itself was simple and comfortable with everything we needed. Diogo was kind enough to let us use his swimming pool in his house a little further up the hill which really added to our stay there, although there is also a little water tank next to the house that you can swim in which looked inviting too. We also loved the area, Tavira is a very pretty, interesting little town and there are some great beaches. We only had a few days here but could have spent weeks, and we'd love to come back again.
