I have a nice and cozy apartment in Rome, perfect for two.
Independent entrance on the ground floor. Entrance/living room with a sofa bed. Toilet with shower. (a 30 liter rapid water boiler) Double bed on the loft. (Please pay attention: it is high only m. 1,50) Electric heating, refrigerator, microwave oven, iron, hair dryer, kitchen utensils, bed linens and towels, telephone and radio. Internet+ WiFi in the apartment.
My little apartment is located in Monteverde Vecchio, a quiet and secure part of the city. Various local amenities are available within walking distance: Supermarkets, various shops, coffeshops, Italian traditional restaurants and pizzerias, and some of the best Italian ice-cream shops in the city. In addition, close to a small colorful open cheap market for fresh fruit, vegetables etc. every morning. My apartment is only a stone's throw from Trastevere, and it is possible to have a walk to the best viewpoint in Rome: Janiculum Hill. The apartment is well connected by bus and tram to Rome's historical centre. From the bus stop just a few metres from the apartment you can take the bus straight to the heart of the historical centre in 15-20 minutes. Monteverde is the greenest district of Rome and immediately outside the apartment, you will find Villa Pamphili (the largest park in Rome) an amazing green area for jogging and leisure. If you are in Rome a Sunday you must visit the famous Porta Portese flea market in Trastevere still part of the true Italian culture.

We had wonderful stay at Lis Mari appartment. Its very cosy and comfortable for short stay. It is in a great location, near a big park and quite close to the city centre (we walked to Vatican City within 25 minutes).
Overall We were appreciative over Lis Mari for coming to airport and picked us up. However the rain and flood with bad weather that caused congestive traffic came at the wrong time.
When We arrived at Lis Home We were all totally drenched. We were only told to use only two power electrical appliances at a time. Meaning a heater and a boiler at each time for example. If I wished to use a hairdryer I have to switch off one of other electrical appliance in order to prevent a power trip! I myself experienced it immediately when We were in the House as Lis turned on both heater and boiler while I was trying to dry my jacket using the hair dryer and in 30 secs time the House power was tripped. Then We were told about the insufficient power usage.
After Lis left the place around 12.15pm, take note that the boiler has been turned on by Lis when were arrived. Me and husband decided to go nearby and explore the surroundings. When We came back around 1.45pm, I tried to take a shower. To my horror, the water is still cold! We have to shower using very cold water despite Lis said she has just changed a new boiler but it does not work.
My husband and I just needed basic essentials. We got No choice but to incur additional costs by checking into a hotel.
Overall, we were pleased with our stay. However, we were very cold at times, in the apartment is very wet. The heat system is not always very warm, and you must leave it on all day to warm the apartment. At times, it was very damp. There was a small space heater for the bathroom, which we used every day. We also move the space heater to the bedroom to warm it up before going to sleep. We were often very cold. The boiler in the shower is very small, and it only last about two minutes. When they say it is a small boiler, they are right. We had to use hot water, then turn it off, then wash our hair, then turn the water back on to rinse . Showers were a big chore, and we dreaded them because it was so cold and lacking in hot water. The location is far from the city center of Rome. We were surprised how far we were. There are many bus stations nearby, but we had to learn the hard way how unreliable the buses were at times.
Our host Lis Mari was very nice and helpful. She and her husband picked us up at the airport and drove us to the apartment. We really appreciated this gesture. It was so helpful. She showed us the apartment and gave us a list of instructions and directions. We had a notebook with all of the information for the apartment which was wonderful.
Overall the stay was nice, but people should know that it is not always very warm and it can be quite damp during the winter or wet months. We came home with clothes that we did not wear that were wet or they smelled like mildew. We did not spend much time in the apartment, so it wasn't too bad. Mornings and evenings were cold though. Please be sure to bring warm clothing options. I would recommend slippers for the cold floor too.
The apartment is close by to a park and many shops and restaurants. The recommended pizza place is wonderful. We ate there several times. We felt very safe at night, and the town is very quiet after sundown. There were streetlights everywhere, and people walking around seemed friendly and seemed to be locals to the area.
We enjoyed our stay in Rome, and we enjoyed our host. I'm not sure if we would stay again as it is very far, but overall the experience was nice. In winter, be prepared to be a little chilly. I don't know what summer would be like.
I have already changed the boiler (30 litres) and all furniture in the kitchen. (I’ve had very busy days!) I'm so sorry that you didn't inform me about the situation before your departure. Unfortunately, the water heater had broken, certainly the water was not enough to shower and you felt the humidity in the apartment. Did you not realize that the water splashed down from the boiler? Sorry for the inconvenient! About the distance, I cannot agree, maps are talking more than words. January is the coldest month of the year when temperature sometime drops below 2°C in Rome. Fortunately this year some days it was sunny and around 15-18°, /Yours sincerely Lis Mari
This apartment was perfect. Very cozy but more than enough room to cook, eat and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Lis was kind enough to provide me with impeccable directions from the airport and had a whole binder full of information about Rome and where to find anything you might need. The only downside is that I couldn't stay LONGER. Strongly recommend!
Being picked up at the airport when arriving to Rome was a very welcoming gesture and a very pleasent start at Rome.
The appartment was clean and tidy, with all the small details thought over. The information that we got from Lis Mary was helpful especially regarding how to get to the center of the city (taking tram number 8 was our daily routine)
We enjoyed one morning of walking in the Villa Pamphily park which is right next to the appartment and one evening to go to the neighberhood pizza.
Thank you Lis Mary for the kind hospitality!!
Lis Mari and her husband met us at the Airport! That was amazing hospitality on their part. Lis Mari adviced us many usefull things about Rome and our location.
Apartments are wonderful! Very large and cozy. The location is very authentic, quite, it is a little bit far from the center, but you can use tram or bus (stops are close) to get to the center fast.
There is a beautiful hill near the house - the best panoramic view in the city!
My girlfriend and I stayed for five days at Lis Mari´s flat. Her husband and she were so kind to pick up us in the airport even though our flight was delayed and even that night was quite foggy. And took us to Janicolo hill to enjoy best panoramic view of Rome at midnight. No words to say thank you enough.
The apartment is large enough for two person. There is a supermarket in a short walking distance. The entrance to a beautiful park is like 30 meters from the door. A lot of people walking with their dogs over there.
And the flat is very well connected to Rome´s old town with public transportation: take bus 870 to get off close to Vatican City or tram 8 to Venezia square/Colosseum.
In summary, we spent five wonderful days in Rome and definitely we would repeat the experience staying at Lis Mari's apartment again.
We had a pleasant stay. Rome is beautiful and well located apartment. It is next to a pleasant park to start the day.
The beds are very comfortable, and the apartment was very clean. Quality / price ratio, perfect!
This place has lots of character and is very clean and comfortable. It is in a great location, near a big park and quite close to the city centre. Lis Mari is a very pleasant and helpful host.
