Welcome in our typical property from Cévennes.
in this genuine farm house, established in the middle of a generous and preserved nature, along the river.
A stopover of holidays, 6 km from Saint Hippolyte du Fort.
This former muleteer’s relay, built in 1650 on the rock along the Vidourle river, was transformed into a magnanery (building dedicated to silkfarming) in the prosperous period of silk, by 1840.
It includes, in its vaults, the sites of a sheep barn, stable, and a bread oven. His thick walls protect us from warmth.
The spirit of many generations of shepherds, breeders of silkworms and farmers still remains within its stones.
So we rehabilitated it with the materials of origin: stone, wood, lime, earth cooks.
Located in the Mediterranean foothills of the National park of the Cévennes, we benefit from a saved nature, a landscape of small timbered mountains, where fauna and the flora are quite present.
Vidourle river is here at 2km of its source, conferring a charming green aspect, to the valley.
It offers us a gorgeous waterfall and its natural basin where it is pleasant to be refreshed.
The scattered farmhouses around seem to always marry slopes and valleys. This country offers beautiful wild walks.
The calm, clear water, green and fresh, contrast with the bustle of the plain village at only 6 km.
Spacious and delicate, it can be equipped with two single beds or a double bed as needed.
Possibility of an extra bed.
Private bathroom with bathtub and toilet.
Cocoon, equipped with a double bed.
Private bathroom with bathtub, and adjacent toilet.
Far from substituting the many tourism offices, we selected those nearby activities:
The silk museum at St Hippolyte du Fort,
The mediaval village of Sauve, (7 km),
The bambouseraie Prafrance at Anduze, (24 km),
Le steam train of Cévennes (Anduze-St Jean du Gard),
The des demoiselles cave (15 km),
The Cévenol museum of Vigan,(35 km)
Intercommunal tourism office of the canton of Cros and
Saint Hippolyte du Fort.

Très belle location, confortable, dans un milieu naturel préservé et calme, situé le long d'une rivière ... à découvrir.
Accueil lui aussi naturel et agréable, merci Véronique !
This bed and breakfast is in a beautiful and secluded area. It was really lovely to sit outside under the trees in the garden or go for a walk by the stream. Breakfast was good and we were very well cared for. I should note that this bnb allows smoking, so the rooms do smell a bit of cigarettes, and the wifi can only be reached in the communial living room. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We have been extremely well received by Véronique. She was absolutely perfect as a host. Warm, kind, attentive. The house is lovely, tasteful, charming, in a wonderful landscape.
We absolutely reccomend La Baraque. You won't regret it!!
We had a lovely stay at the farm of Veronique ans Alexis. The room was very nice, quiet and absolutely perfect. We spent a lot of time in the garden and the little pond. An absolute lovely and remote hideaway.
The breakfast is very nice with homemade jam, regional cheese, good coffee and fresh fruits.
Staying in the Cevennes was a great experience! Veronique's farmhouse is beautifully restored, a very special place. Our bedroom was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. To my pleasant surprise there was a big, enamel bathtub in our washroom. Breakfast was delicious - all products either made by Veronique or brought from local farmers. Veronique and Alexi were warm and generous hosts. They shared their time and perspectives with us, which we will not forgot. During our short stay we walked in the hills and took a swim in the swimming spot on their property. We were sad to leave after two relaxing days.
