  • This was a great place to stay and Paolo was a very helpful host. There had apparently be a problem with the specific place I booked but Paulo put me in another, larger apartment at the same address. It was spacious, clean and comfprtable. Paulo also made a bike available which was excellent as I was able to cycle to the beach and around the town.

The purpose of my visit was to see the mosaics and they were absolutely spectacular. Ravenna is a pleasant, quite small town. A really good trip altogether.

  • The apprt. was clean and light and Paolo was very amenable to meeting us at the hour we suggested. Perhaps because it had the feel of being a very new enterprise, it felt a bit basic. Bare minimum of crockery and cutlery, only a 2 hob cooker, no oven or grill; no oil, vinegar or pepper and minimal coffee. No kettle.
The bathroom door was a bit unfinished and ill fitting which didn't bother us practically but was not up to the standard of the other 2 places we'd stayed in...Ferrara and Bologna. For these reasons, we thought it was on the expensive side at £60.00 a night.
The picture/photo attached (of San Vitale, the prime site in Ravenna) gave me a misleading impression, when teamed with the descriiption of the appmt. and it's location etc. It was described as being in an ancient convent/friary and , not knowing Ravenna at all, I expected the appt to be in something similar to the picture! It is not. It's in a quite central road but is very plain with no sense of historical features at all. So I felt a bit cheated and silly.
The bike worked well and Ravenna is lovely so it was good but I'm glad we only had 2 nights there as the quality was on the less good side.

  • We spent just 1 night here. The room was clean and the apartment is well placed.
Paolo speaks good English. He was very helpful spending a lot of time showing us around the city.
The apartment we were provided with had not much in common with the photos provided and there was nothing but the very essential kitchen appliances. I would be disappointed staying here for a long time but we arrived in the evening and left in the morning. The bead is large and comfortable.

  • We had a pleasant 2 nights at Paolo's apartment which was clean and comfortable. It's centrally located and maybe 10mins walk from the station. We made use of Paolo's bikes for a round trip to the Marina but I wouldn't recommend the northern return from Porto Corsini! While there we ate at Ca' de Ven which was great. Paolo hands out a sheet with a list of places to eat offering a discount.

  • My husband and I spent 2 nights in Ravenna this past September. Paolo was a wonderful host. He was accessible by phone when we we trying to find the flat and then went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He recommended restaurants that were close by and updated us on the events going on in the town. The flat we stayed in was on the main floor. It is very clean and new and modern. The kitchen is well fitted and has a lovely table in it. The bedroom is large with a queen bed and a single bed. The bathroom is very bright and spotless. My only negative observation is that the shower is a little cramped.and small. The building is very central and we were able to walk from there to the various churches. Paolo has done a beautiful job renovating the building and we would be happy to recommend it for a stay in Ravenna.

    Response from Paolo:

    Thank you, Jacquie!
Sorry for the shower, but in Italy a shower large cm. 80x95 is very big!

    Ciao :+)

  • I stayed by myself (Eric) as Kaia was to join me later in Rome. So found a place to be for a few weeks. Newly renovated, well placed near the train station (15 min walk) and the old center of town, with full shower and toilet, good bachelor kitchen, and fantastic cold fridge (mid size), a minimum of cooking gear, but that I think will grow in time as guests take advantage and Paolo is absolutely keen to help and make sure your stay is wonderful. When I first arrived there was a heat wave, asked Paolo if by chance a fan was available, and voila one was supplied. Free use of bikes (only deposit required) was great as Ravenna is a true biking town. Also a nice bike path to the sea, so Marina and Beach are accessible with 30-45 minute bike ride. Wifi was good but required being closer to the door or main courtyard, when weather is good though a great place to hang out. Paolo and his parents are wonderful, supplying me with maps and suggestions for places and activities. I highly recommend their place and Ravenna as a destination. Cheers Eric

  • Nice flat(s) in the center of Ravenna, within walking distance of most attractions, and the main shopping and entertainment street of the city. Paolo is an excellent host, responding to all requests promptly and professionally. The flats are nice and clean, with all modern appliances, all in excellent working order. For someone wanting to explore the city or the surroundings on bicycles, Paolo provides a lot of them without additional charge. Definitely recommendable.

Ospitale!
