Quiet and cosy studio in a very good area, very close to everything you need to see in Madrid, and surrounded of lots of tapas bars.
Bright and quiet studio located in the most madrilenian neighbourhood (Chamberí). This studio is really close to everything: 5 min by tube to Puerta del Sol and all the most important art galleries (Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofía, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, …) and 5 min walk from two of the liveliest parts of the city: Malasaña and Chueca. These two neighbourhoods are the most fashionable areas of the moment, where you can find vintage shops and trendy bars, as well as the typical Spanish tapas bars. Even though the apartment is within walking distance of a very lively area, it is situated in a very quiet street off Fuencarral, and it’s also overlooking an interior patio, which provides an even more peaceful environment. There’s even a very typical garden/square just round the corner (Plaza de Olavide), famous for it’s tapas bars, and also an original version cinema 300 yards away.
You can also take the tube to the “Golden Mile”, where all the most fashionable and luxurious shops are concentrated, and be there within 10 min.
The closest tube station is Quevedo (L2, red line), and also Bilbao (L1, blue line, and L4, brown line) and Iglesia (L1 blue line) stations, both 5 minutes away.
The building is provided with a wheelchair ramp, and also has 2 lifts (width of wheelchairs should be consulted).
It has a huge comfortable sofa bed, dinning table, kitchenette with all the kitchenware, sink, electric cooker, breakfast bar, fridge, microwave, Italian coffee maker, kettle and toaster. The bathroom is big compared to the whole apartment, complete with a bath and a shower. The apartment is provided with both linen and towels.
It also includes a potent fan, central heating individually managed, a washing machine, a 32” LED LCD TV with all kinds of ports (you can watch a HD DVD or the photos taken during that day in the TV), a book collection and WiFi internet connection (optic fibre).
I live in the same building, so I can tell you this is the best location you will find!
We expect from you to return it in the same good conditions it was found. Pets are not allowed, and smoking is strongly forbidden. The maximum number of guests is limited to 2 people. The appliances should be used for their intended uses only.
Nous avons été très bien accueillis dès notre arrivé au studio. Appartement idéal pour découvrir Madrid. À 5min du quartier Malasana.
Sara's dad made sure to meet us, and he was very helping and charming. Sara was available by email. Both of them did their best to make us feel welcome. They were both very kid-friendly which I really appreciated.
Great studio! Excellent location!! I really enjoyed my time at Sara's apartment. I stayed for 16 nights and the location couldn't have been better. Within 10 minutes walking to almost any main location. A 15 minute morning jog to El Retiro to watch the sunrise every morning. The wifi worked great and the bathroom is huge with a full tub. Sara was a pleasure to communicate with and her father was wonderful. He was always available for anything I may have needed and left me with a hand typed list of his favorite tapas places. Overall, a great experience. Would love to return again!
Jose Maria is a wonderful and very helpful host. He speaks English and Spanish, which makes things so simple. He thought of small details, like providing things for breakfast (fruit, milk, coffee...). The flat's location is amazing, and everything works to perfection, including the wifi. It's a very clean, confortable and quiet apartment, perfect for a couple. I'd definitely recommend this flat if you want to visit Madrid.
I very much enjoyed my stay here - it felt like a home-away-from-home. The unit is bright and cheery, like the pictures show. Sara's dad was welcoming and warm, and the fresh fruit was a nice touch. It is in a good location, close to a small park as well as to the metro and lively commercial area, but since it is located down a side-street, it is quiet even with the windows open. The unit was only one flight up, accessible by either stairs or elevator, which made it very convenient to pop in and out. In addition to the comfortable sleeping area, there is a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and small range, and there are pans, dishes, and cups available. Sara even has provided salt, pepper, and a few other common condiments.
Our stay at Sara’s apartment was wonderful and I highly recommend it for others looking to stay in Madird. Both Sara and her father Jose were incredibly hospitable and helpful throughout our stay. Jose even provided us a list of the best places in the city, ones that only locals would know. This only enhanced our experience in Madrid, seeing as all his tips were great!
The apartment itself was beautifully decorated and was in a great location in the heart of the city. Being on the subway line we were easily able to get around the city and to the airport in no time. In addition, we were in a great neighborhood close to great restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
An excellent place for one or two persons!
I arrived late at night, still Sara's dad (Jose) waited for me and showed me the apartment. He even bought me some milk and fruits for the next morning, and provided many useful tips about Madrid and the close neighbourhood.
The apartment itself is well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Although I haven't used the kitchen much, it has all the necessary stuff. The bathroom is spacious, and the shower is very good.
The apartment resides in a very central place, close to many restaurants, bars, clubs and shops.
I would certainly stay there again on my next trip to Madrid.
My dad has been renting this flat for years, but decided to make a refurbishment of the flat a few years ago, and that’s when I got involved. We've been renting it for a long stay, but we've decided to try short stays as I was living in the same building and I could help him with the managing of the reservations.
My dad is a great Madrid’s lover and knows a lot about the city, and he is available to answer any questions you may have -he speaks perfect English, as he studied at the British Institute when he was young. As for me, I used to live in England and now work at the airport, so you won’t have any language problems with us. I'm now living in another town, as I've just been transferred by my company, so my dad will be the one attending you (he also lives close by) and I'm only in charge of the reservations.
