About this listing
Quiet and cosy studio in a very good area, very close to everything you need to see in Madrid, and surrounded of lots of tapas bars.
Bright and quiet studio located in the most madrilenian neighbourhood (Chamberí). This studio is really close to everything: 5 min by tube to Puerta del Sol and all the most important art galleries (Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofía, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, …) and 5 min walk from two of the liveliest parts of the city: Malasaña and Chueca. These two neighbourhoods are the most fashionable areas of the moment, where you can find vintage shops and trendy bars, as well as the typical Spanish tapas bars. Even though the apartment is within walking distance of a very lively area, it is situated in a very quiet street off Fuencarral, and it’s also overlooking an interior patio, which provides an even more peaceful environment. There’s even a very typical garden/square just round the corner (Plaza de Olavide), famous for it’s tapas bars, and also an original version cinema 300 yards away.
You can also take the tube to the “Golden Mile”, where all the most fashionable and luxurious shops are concentrated, and be there within 10 min.
The closest tube station is Quevedo (L2, red line), and also Bilbao (L1, blue line, and L4, brown line) and Iglesia (L1 blue line) stations, both 5 minutes away.
The building is provided with a wheelchair ramp, and also has 2 lifts (width of wheelchairs should be consulted).
It has a huge comfortable sofa bed, dinning table, kitchenette with all the kitchenware, sink, electric cooker, breakfast bar, fridge, microwave, Italian coffee maker, kettle and toaster. The bathroom is big compared to the whole apartment, complete with a bath and a shower. The apartment is provided with both linen and towels.
It also includes a potent fan, central heating individually managed, a washing machine, a 32” LED LCD TV with all kinds of ports (you can watch a HD DVD or the photos taken during that day in the TV), a book collection and WiFi internet connection (optic fibre).
I live in the same building, so I can tell you this is the best location you will find!
We expect from you to return it in the same good conditions it was found. Pets are not allowed, and smoking is strongly forbidden. The maximum number of guests is limited to 2 people. The appliances should be used for their intended uses only.
This Summer, I spent a month in this apartment and I can tell you that it really felt like home since the first few days. It is calm, has everything I needed as a student living alone and in one of the best locations I saw in Madrid. Its proximity to the supermarket was a huge plus for me, in addition to the numerous restaurants and shops around. Not forgetting to mention the proximity to the metro station (line 2) and to the bus station leading to Moncloa (where I needed to go every day).
Also, it was very easy for me to communicate with Sara and her father even though I don't speak Spanish. They are always ready to help and assist in any situation that has to do with the apartment.
The building is safe and clean.
The only thing that would have enhanced my experience there would have been an extra set of towels and of bed linen since I was there on a long stay and I would have liked to have a subsitute for what's being washed and dryed.
In any case, I would most certainly recommend this apartment whether it is for a vacation or for a long stay since for me, this is where I'll stay if I go to Madrid again!
Staying at this studio in the heart of Madrid was the perfect addition to our stay for 5 days. The apartment was perfectly equipped and fit 2 people very comfortably. Sara's father greeted us and was the most hospitable and charismatic individuals very open to helping! I highly suggest this place for your stay in Madrid.
Sara and her father were very welcoming!
The apartment is lovely, in an central and lively location. Its with A/C and no direct sunlight which is perfect during the summer months.
I can recommend this apartment to everyone!
The neighborhood is great! I previously lived in this neighborhood so it was like being at home again! Right down the street there are various restaurants, cafes, bakeries, metro lines, and a supermarket. Sara was not there, it was the dad who met us. He was very welcoming and he was eager to help if we needed the help. The sofa bed is a bit hard...but it was definitely big enough to sleep two! Sara was excellent at communicating with me before I arrived. She always promptly answered my questions and emails. The father was kind enough to buy some fruit for us and milk. The kitchen is well supplied with plates and pots and pans and anything else you may need. Overall was a good stay.
Sara ha conseguido que el inquilino, un compañero de trabajo, se sintiese como en casa.
Fantastic studio flat in a great location! We received an incredibly warm welcome when we arrived, and even a bowl of fresh fruit. There is nothing about Madrid that the hosts can't tell you so you are sure to get directions to the best local places to eat, drink and visit. You'll learn more about the city and it's history from Sara's father than any of the museums so be sure to ask as many questions as you can.
The flat itself has everything you could need and the bed is very comfortable. The location is fantastic, the flat is in a great area with lots of tapas bars and cafes nearby, and only a 15 minute stroll into the very centre of Madrid.
We were only in Madrid for a few days so already thinking about our next trip, and there's only one place we'd want to stay!
About the Host, Sara
My dad has been renting this flat for years, but decided to make a refurbishment of the flat a few years ago, and that’s when I got involved. We've been renting it for a long stay, but we've decided to try short stays as I was living in the same building and I could help him with the managing of the reservations.
My dad is a great Madrid’s lover and knows a lot about the city, and he is available to answer any questions you may have -he speaks perfect English, as he studied at the British Institute when he was young. As for me, I used to live in England and now work at the airport, so you won’t have any language problems with us. I'm now living in another town, as I've just been transferred by my company, so my dad will be the one attending you (he also lives close by) and I'm only in charge of the reservations.
